  2. Happy Birthday hammer007!

  3. I just went down a similar path and was quoted around $56K for a 2010 plated turbo with luxury pack, towbar, auto, window tint, tech pack etc and for $3k etc I ended up a 2009 FG F6 with 9000km on the clock.
  4. If that's her picture in your avatar I'm not sure how effective a guide she would be - I'd be smashing into walls.

    Shipping

Send an email to the seller - they may be happy to send to NZ - in any event Australia Post is pretty reliable and I'm sure one of the SA members would eb happy to help.
  6. Dr Z - quite a few members have leased their Ts through salary packaging - I'm a big fan and have been very happy with how this is working for me nearly 12 months on. Do a search on some earlier posts and you will get some feedback on various financing options. Just remember that your mileage may vary depending on your own circumstances.
  7. http://forums.whirlpool.net.au/forum-repli...fm?t=171411&p=2 Link will not work unless you have 50 posts on whirlpool.net.au - thanks to Cro for posting. Check out the comments made by Matty5700 midway down the 2nd page. Converted another 1....
  8. Judy You need an open mind to understand Ken.
  9. Offtopic: Genebaby - was that your car yesterday with the FPV-Tickford Club in front of Old Parliament House ? If so I had a good perve at your car - what was with the BA N/a that had removed the 6 from the end of the XR6 on external badges ? I didn't get that..... My better half used to work with Bruce H.
  10. The crummydore was probably suffering from performance anxiety. You must have searched long and hard to come up with that number of merc silvers.
  11. Supposed to stop brake dust affecting your alloys.
  12. Yes and my 1992 Toyota Camry turned the lights off automatically when you removed the key.... one day Australian car companies will catch up. Hopefully not as far as Saab who have heated leather seats.
  13. And if you ever want to do a physical auction at a cruise etc I'll provide my services free of charge.
  14. Lights-on feature is very effective - motorbikes have had this for years as a saftey feature.
  15. Only rude if you get your nuts polished  I've seen mixed success with alloy polishing - get a good polisher and the results can look as nearly good as if they were chromed. Just need to be careful you don't cut through the clear coat. edit - what I meant was if a protective coat is applied after polishing you don't want to damage this coat.

    Boot Lid

Call me a pleb but I just shut the damn boot - I've got more important things to worry about than fingerprints.....
  17. Chrisso - the thing you forgot to add was the comment about hero colours and reseale value. The article basically concluded that a basic car didn't re-sell very well if it was in a 'hero' colour (eg red, black) and the same for hero cars in non-hero colours (eg mecury silver). If I recall correctly that figure on 85% was based on redbook values. www.redbook.com.au average kms 18,000 - 22,000 trade in price guide* $34,400 - $38,600 national average price - private sale* $37,800 - $42,900 price when new (RRP) $46,005 tradein 75% - 84% private sale 82% - 93% Redbook is *supposed* to be based on actual sales and trade-ins. I'm still amazed that the figures are holding up - if you want a shock have a look at AUIII XR6 - ouch.
  18. The most reliable (but boring) car I've owned was a Toyota Camry. It wasn't until I crossed over to the darkside did I discover things like machining brake discs and leaking coolant at 15000km. If I was to buy a car with my head rather than my heart I would have a Toyota, purely for the reliability factor.
  19. Ouch - thank goodness for salary packaging. I've just had a quick look and my package has an allowance for tyres $906 pa - I won't need to take out a second mortgage to pay for the tyres. Can anyone else remember when a 16" was a big tyre and you could get a nice Toyo or similar for $220 each ? Do they make a Bob Jane all-rounder to fit ? (just kidding I'm a big fan of quality tyres after a few experiences with 'lesser' brands on my previous XR6)
  20. Got photos/video ? There is a good article in the Canberra Times today of a mug who thought that hairspray would obscure his rear bike plate. $1400 in fines later I think he's convinced it doesn't work. He might not have been endangering anyone else but surely if you want to go that fast there are better places to do it I.e. not in a place that has speed cameras? Maybe a one-off event (I'm not condoning speeding) but to repeat the behaviour so often that the police went to the trouble of establishing an oepration to catch one repeat offender you would have to question IQ.
  21. Its a pity there isn't a charge for being an absolute flog. I hope Cronulla is well served by public transport.
  22. XRTUFF XR641 (for those who don't like to share) XR642 (for sharers)
  23. There was a roo ? Must have missed that part of the story.
