  1. And isn't it amazing how Bayside is right next to the refineries...AND our oil doesn't come from the US Bring back COR! Bring back COR! Lumpy <{POST_SNAPBACK}> its also funny that our petrol prices rose immediately.... we are still using stocks purchased weeks ago at a lower rate.... but the price at the bowser doesnt refelct that does it, meaning that we are getting ripped blind immediately the price of petrol should not rise at the bowser until we hit stocks purchased at the higher price.... still weeks away OPEC is fricken powerless too by the looks of it. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> That's the bit that the ACCC needs to bite into, the gutless pricks. If any other company in the business world followed the same practice they would be toasted without any hesitation. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Dont blame the ACCC. Blame the Federal Liberal government. They withdrew the ACCC's power to investigate pricing in the oil industry, and refuse to reinstate the ACCC's ability to investigate. Better still, blame the fools who voted them in for a 3rd term.
  2. WA Suspension. Bilstein shocks and Lovell springs. Rides superb!
  3. Nice vid. I'm surprised the car doesnt lean out or miss with such a low fuel level. Most XR6T's I've seen putting out 280 +rwkw fuel surge and miss fire with anything less than 1/3 tank of fuel. Maybe the fuel system in the ute's are different.
  4. no it wasnt a free for all, it was ultimate or u could use this stuff there called....Martini... It made mine drop from 498 on Ultimate to 484 and then proceeded to eat away my rubber fuel lines. I dont use anything cept Ultimate. Hopefully hit the dyno today. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> From the AME website: Official Fuel Supply Martini Racing will be the official fuel suppliers to the AME Pacemaker Headers Horsepower Championship with their 110 octane legal unleaded fuel. You can still use the 98 octane pump fuel (Mobil, Shell, BP & Caltex), but there’s been great gains to be had with the Martini 110 fuel. All five fuels can be used in all classes. To get your MARTINI Racing 110 octane unleaded fuel call 03 9763 0977 I'd say a T running 20+ psi boost, plus an extra 5-10 degrees of spark over a 98 RON fuel would definately get these baby's singing! If the MARTINI Racing fuel destroyed your fuel lines I'd be having words to them Simon. You'll find they'd probably pay for any damage done to the lines. Shame this happened 'cause if you were to retune for the 110 fuel you would definately hit over 500 rwhp easily.
  5. Was there any fuel testing at the AME show? Or was it a free-for-all, run whatever type of fuel you want? Nice result Simon. Looks like the Motorplex is going to be full of Fords next month with all this new found power.
  6. No you can't use the factory tune once the bigger injectors are installed. Well, you could, but it will run extremely rich. Usually what happens is slot 1 will be a stock calibration reprogrammed to suite the bigger injecters I.e. the car should drive like it did stock. Slot 2 and 3 will be for your other programs e.g. 8 psi and 10 psi.
  7. The clicking is caused when the tuner selects Wastegate Dyno Duty Cycle as a boost control medium. There is nothing inherently wrong with this approach, but since its an internal Ford calibration mode it does result in the wastegate control solenoid pulsing at this duty cycle any time the ignition key is switched on. Either using desired boost tables or dyno dutycycle can give a workable result, and both are perfectly acceptable ways of controlling the boost pressure. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> I guess if both methods work then all should be good as you say Tuner
  8. Hey Mal, Nice to drive your new car! Shame I didn't even get to see your old one Hopefully see you at the cruise
  9. No it's not normal. Does the solenoid do it with the factory calibration? It shouldn't do. It's more like a programming glitch. Boost should be controlled with the correct tables; altering the wrong tables causes strange issues - such as solenoid click. You wouldnt accept erratic idle or poor fuel economy after an edit, neither should you accept this.
  10. I've got a pic of a KLM 747-400 in my avatar landing at St Maarten's. Just love it. Check out the vids from: http://www.flightlevel350.com and do a search for St Maarten's. There's plenty of vids! Here's one of the KLM flight coming in to land! http://www.flightlevel350.com/viewer.php?id=765
  11. ok thanks this is good help. so I should put the standard map back in? <{POST_SNAPBACK}> I'd say so. The solenoid doesn't click with the factory calibration; why should it click with a modified calibration? Unless or course there's a programming error. I doubt the clicking of the solenoid will do it any good. Put it back to stock and have the box retuned.
  12. Clicking noise is caused by the wastegate solenoid. Call the company you purchased the box from and tell them about this problem. It's not normal for the solenoid to click away! 10 psi program will also require the plugs to be regapped.
  13. Why sleeve cylinder 1 when the block is cast iron? Excellent price for a short motor considering it's an outright purchase.
  14. 6psi - 240rwkw 10psi - 284rwkw 13 psi - 310rwkw 16psi - not verified yet, but it pulls a lot harder than the 13psi program I tuned it with my own SCT software with the assistance of Barry from FPT. AFR's are a modest 11.6 - 11.8:1 with all tunes.

    My Edit

Interesting. So the surging in your car has gone then? Does it also hold a flat boost line or does it flare the boost initially then taper off? I was only able to alleviate the surging in my car from it's first (actually around 4) tune attempts after visiting the guys from FPT in Wangara.
  16. Hey Mark, you sell the Nissan? Nice purchase, you should see 400 - 450rwhp easily out of one of these cars with minimal mods. Drop me a PM if you want some info. Jason.

    Next Monaro?

Who cares what it looks like, it's a GM
  18. One of Nizpro's customers fitted a smb pipe and cat a re tune and went from 249rwkw's to 289 rwkws on 98 pulp. On good fuel still with the std intercooler they made 317rwkw's. Then by replacing one of the most restrictive intercooler hose's they made 327rwkw's, all still with the standard intercooler. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> 327rwkw with the stock intercooler? That would have to be a new record, right? Damn, guess I wasted $990 on the one that I have then.
  19. what r u on about? .. youve lost me.. In one sentence you say its expensive @ 200 to have the dump pipe and cat installed and then say you payed 308 for the same thing............ wtf? <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Misread your post. I thought you said $200 for cat installation only. My mistake.
  20. $200 for cat installation and adaption to the factory exhaust system? Damn that's expensive considering I got my SMB 4" dump pipe and 4" cat installation for $308 inc GST. After you install the bigger dump pipe and/or cat you will need to reprogram the PCM. From memory my car gained 20odd rwkw mid range and top end replacing the dump pipe and cat. In sequence of power ups, achieving 250 - 260rwkw is relatively easy with the flasher, but over that amount it requires multiple items to be replaced to make power at realistic boost levels. For example, my car made 260rwkw with the SCT tune with stock injectors running 10 psi, now it makes 310rwkw running 13 - 14psi. Along the way I've installed a bigger front mount intercooler (the factory unit was approaching it's limits at repeated power runs at 285rwkw), replaced the dump pipe and cat and have retuned it. You'll find that replacing the cat and/or dump pipe will require you to replace injectors and intercooler as well for everything to function smoothly, and without placing a strain on anything.
  21. What Mal Wood said. Doubt the 5 speed will cope. I'm running the factory 6 speed.
  22. Anyone tried the Raptor scantool from SCT?
  23. Mal Wood Option 3 clutch kit installed for my 6 speed T, probably done around 2000k's since it's installation. No complaints at all! More positive clutch feel over the stock unit and it's well and truly able to cope with the extra power and torque.
  24. Went to the Late model camira Car Club of WA dyno day today held at D & T in Wangara. I'm an associate member of their club after having sold my VT and buying the BA. Anyway, running in shoot_6F mode, the car made 409.9 rwhp. The result is quite good, although the engine is still in need of valve springs. Might arrange a time to have them installed soon. BTW, it was the highest result of the day, closest run was a VY SS ute which made 280rwhp.
  25. Inlet is 3" from memory, outlet is twin 2.5". The problem with the stock cat is the flow path is absolutely hopeless. The entry is in via the centre of the cat, but the outlets are on the sides. Therefore, the exhaust gas comes rushing in, go though the cat, hit the back of the cat (like hitting a wall) then have to deflect sideways to exit the cat. It's no wonder replacing the cat results in power gains.
