I have had a lot of dealings with many dealerships of various brands (Yes I am embarressed that I have strayed from Ford a few times, but the Missus loves her little Mazdas which are well built and partially owned by Ford). I once had a Nissan 4wd and found my local service dept absolute sleezebags, just kept trying to pull the wool over my eyes, had an excuse for every problem, yet I went to Coff harbour for a holiday and the dealer there fixed everything in one day. The point I am trying to make is that no matter what brand you drive, there are good apples and rotten apples as far as dealers go. Find one you like and stick with them! Cheers B.B.

Maybe I'm wrong, but to get a quick launch in a stock auto, I just hold about 2000rpm in either Manual mode or Performance auto mode and let rip. I was wondering if anyone had better ways than this and is it just as quick if left in drive(adpt auto)? Interested to see what different approaches you may have! Cheers B.B.

OK, just to keep the ball rolling, heres a repeat of my very first encounter when my T was new, stock with about 2000ks on the clock. So there I was, cruisin the Highway from Newcastle to home (Gold Coast) only to catch up to a silver dunnydoore VYSS, which I wasted no time in trading places (as I do!). At this stage I'm pretty well kicked back with a bit of slow traffic up front, but alas theres my favourite sign, "Overtaking lane ahead 300m". Time to sit up a bit in the seat and prepare to blast off as the road forks, but hang on, it looks like Mr SS is trying to insert his right driving light into my exhaust pipe, which left me with only one option, right foot planted, kicked back to 2nd gear and hold my nose closer to the windscreen (to make it go faster of course). The clear lane in front was heading up a very steep hill and the freak behind me (with stupid smug grin on his face) was stickin like sh## to a blanket, then both lanes were clear so I elected to switch into the left lane and see what this Bozo had! (besides this was the stage when my wife started to hit me) ,but still, foot planted and gathering speed the SS stayed out there to pass me, but to his dismay was slowly losing ground (no chance in the world). I felt great about all this, because what I have'nt told you was that he was travelling alone where I had four adults and a boot packed to the hilt with luggage & suitcases, I'm stoked! B.B.

How about we give him 1 or 2 seasons to get used to the catergory, then maybe Mr Ford can flash some dollars under his nose and bring him across to the blue side of the fence." Come on Alex, we know you want to".

Looks great! More info please!, price & where from? Pretty please B.B.

Hi Guys, this is an invitation for you to tell your story. (no exageration please) We've all had a run with someone at sometime whether it be at the lights, up a hill or even fighting for that lane that's just about to run out. It does'nt matter what car you drive (although I hope its a Ford) or whether you won or lost (no severe scalding here), it just makes interesting read and could make this post go on forever! Ok Ok I'll start with an opener, I was driving along yesterday in my T almost side by side with my mate in his Liberty GT (auto) when a "P" driver in a 5L Dunnydore severely cut between us in front of me just as we were pulling up at a red light. He then sat there revving the crapp out of it obviously with the intention of a big launch. The lights turned green and he managed to get the jump on my mates Suby which was enough for me to cross in front of him and blast past the uterus like there was no tomorrow, I then backed off and watched the young incapable revhead roar into the distance at warp speed. I must say I felt great but my wifes comment was "what the hell was that" and I replied "you'll never understand just never understand". Now lets here yours! Cheers B.B.

And here I thought it just meant "Xtra Roomy" not like those little squeasy Jap Crapps!

Not a problem cause I won,t let anyone drink in mine in case they spill some, ha ha ha! It does come in handy for the garage door opener though. I was thinking maybe some exhaust brakes like the trucks, cause once I give her a stab of the ole BP she tends to have enough momentum to roll for the next 10km. Sorry guys just tryin to be constructive. Cheers B.B.

Ahh Qld prices are so great! Filled up at Tweed Heads before I left and price was down to 88.9 for BP ultima(98), admittably it does normally hover around 97c but as long as I fill on Wed or Thurs its cheapest. No way would I consider running on regular(91), even though the T,s knock sensors would handle it, but your defeating the purpose as it may be cheaper to buy but your fuel economy would be a lot worse, therefore your tank fill would cost about the same for less power. I have proven this many times with other cars. Happy New Year to ALL! Cheers B.B.

Hey, has any one seen a Vixen (Red) Typhoon?? And you know the writing on the side, is it still Red And how good does it look and would you change the color and what to? And can any one get a picture of a red one ? <{POST_SNAPBACK}> What tha? has this got to do with Fuel consumption? Anyway, I just towed a jet ski (fully loaded with luggage and 4 adults) from Gold Coast to Newcastle and average was 12.8L/100k.

I think you mean, Mr Stone could'nt have been more RIGHT!

What is Expensive Daewoo going to do next year? Bring out a 7.5 Litre V8 or maybe a supercharged 6 Litre. They just keep gettin bigger, but who cares while our little 6 just keeps blowin them to the weeds. Lets try and be a little mature here, HOLDENS ARE ha ha ha!

I saw a silver BA XR6 (na) with 20's and it look just magic. I asked the owner about them and he said his local ford dealer already had them on in the showroom. B.B.

Welcome to the site Andy!, and welcome to the "can't get the smile off my face club". If you really want to love your car and make your son green with envy, maybe your first small cost mod should be your exhaust. Try this link Centre Muffler Removal Anyway, great Xmas present, cheers B.B.

Thanks for the tip Lumpy! We,ll be going through there on Monday (Tweed Heads to Newcastle), I'll set the cruise control on the limit and try to resist any temptations, or I can let the Missus drive (she got heaps of points). Bugger that , I'll go with option 1 . B.B. P.S. Merry Xmas to all!

47 here, but still drive like I did when I was 20. I never age behind the wheel, but my Missus has, these days she yells at me when I race someone.

I went to Exotic Exhaust today and got mine done the same, and I also think it sounds perfect. Not too loud, but beefy down low, with a sweet note up high. I ordered it a week ahead and when I got there it was all made up ready, took a whole 15min to swap it over, hose down my old muffler so it was cool enough to put in the boot, and away I went, with an all up cost inc fitting of $260. I'm real happy with all that. B.B.
