  1. Been reading that the new MKII FPVs will come with a twin gauge pod above the ICC (where the factory clock and some of you have fitted a boost gauge is). Has anyone seen these yet? I am very keen to get a hold of one if they look the goods (being factory they should). Hopefully I will be able to check them out at the motor show next weekend.
  2. Thanks for the great info Turbo6man. I have found the socket in the right hand wheel well. It is located in front of the wheel above the main loom that is running to the rear of the car. It is white and is TEE shaped. That explains what the second wire is, I was certain is wasn't the earth, it is the tail light circuit. The constant 12v wire is a large yellow wire that is in this same loom, I haven't tracked it to the rear of the car to verify if it goes to a plug yet.

    Ute Lids

Yeah, Just emailed them and found out the cost is at least an extra $2000 over a hardcover, I think I will stick to the hardcover idea.
  4. Has anyone gone through the process of removing the tonneu cover hooks after installing a hardcover? Do they just drill out? What size drill bit should I use? Any tricks to look out for? I picked up 20 plastic plugs from Ford to plug up the holes.
  5. I have read in the Ford brochures that the BA Utes come prewired for a centre brake light and a cargo light. Does anyone know where exactly these plugs are? I am getting a hard cover and I would like to utilise the existing wiring if possible.
  6. Noticed shortly after delivery that my fuel cap/filler sits very low in the fuel flap area. It sits down blocking about 1/3 of the bottom of the filler, it makes it difficult to remove and fit the fuel cap. This is obviously not right but where does everyone elses sit? Does anyone have a photo that I could take to Ford to show them to ensure it gets fixed? Thanks
  7. Easily removed, just slip straight out!

    ute register

Just picked up on Friday as per signature.
  9. I had my lower grill and tray liner/dividers fitted by Michael today, the quality of both these items is superb! The Tray Liner and Dividers look completely factory, better than factory if you compare it to the Ford effort on the floor of the sedan! The best $80 I have spent yet on the new ute! Stops the shopping moving around (tested it already) and looks the "ducks guts". The grill is the same high quality as the first one I had on the XR6. I highly recommend Michael to everyone who has a ute to get a liner. Also, it's worth the trip to check out Michael's fabulous ute.
  10. Or Vixen Red spray paint!

    Hey Ute Ppls

Has anyone fitted the cargo net to the rear wall of their ute? If so, can you post a picture and let us know if it's practical? Mine was sitting in the glovebox when I picked up the car, not too keen to drill the two lugs in..

    Tray Compartments

I want to fit a large toolbox type box into the tray of my ute, what is the best way to secure it? I have read about people silicone-ing them in, screwing them in etc, what is the best/easiest way? I might look at a large plastic box for less noise and I can throw the jack/wheel brace kit in there and out of the cabin!

    Hard Cover Removal

How did you go about removing the lugs? Any traps for young players? Did you buy the plugs to fill the holes from Ford? What do these cost? How did you go about painting them, I'm thinking of getting some touch-up paint from Ford to paint them.
  14. Last one for now.
  15. And another
  16. Another Photo
  17. Just took a couple of quick photos (don't really do the colour too much justice). I love the painted engine bay, at last!
  18. Final Stage. I will take a few photos of the car shortly.

  20. I just received photos from Ford of my car being built. Trim Stage
  21. I went to check out the "runout" sales that are on at the moment. Traded the XR6na sedan on a Vixen XR8 Ute, really loving the car! Can't say enough for Duhig Ford at Essendon, did a top deal and beat the next best price by $3000. I would recommend them to anyone in Melbourne, ask for Ian Laurie. I went through www.discountnewcars.com.au and Duhig Ford was their "accredited dealer" in Melbourne. I was after a manual, not a lot of XR8 MkI utes available, had to settle on an auto, must say, happy I now did, it is a very good shift, feels a lot different to my old XR6 auto shift, the XR8 shifts much quicker and firmer. (may just be that I now drive with my right foot firmly planted to the firewall). :o I don't think I can get enough of that engine sound! :o
  22. Michael, You wouldn't have a webpage at all for Auto Web Concepts? Cheers
  23. I ordered mine about a month ago and have been given October 13 as a delivery date. Did they offer you any discounts on the purchase?
  24. Please post pics and photos of the carpet and ute x bracing, I am in for one of these! Also, where did you get your hardcover and spoiler from, is it a Ford item or carryboy etc?
  25. Has anyone ordered a MKII Falcon XR yet? What is the expected waiting time for delivery?
