18 inch rims look hot on a sedan,Even on a ute.Make sure you tick the option for a spare to be a 18 to mate.Only costs another $400.The tyres alone are going to be nearlly that amount when replacement is needed but the cost is coming down every day for this size tyre.I got a price of $230 the other day for future reference.

I am kind of used to this sort of vehicle looseing traction as my AU2 XR8 did the same thing in the wet,Just alot more controlable being a V8 and how the power was more progressive down low. These cars or utes are the most impressive thing I have driven for a long time and I have had 5 new Fords over 7 years.Just thinking back when I bought a brand new XR6 in 95 and thought it was sensational but this car not only would it make my last XR8 silly makes the last 5 look rather mundane.I dont now about you guys but I am having so much fun in this car.I have removed the T badges from the tailgate not that it stops idiots want to try you on and everyone of them has been hosed off.I think the only thing that would get close is another T in sedan form and that might be a debateable subject.Enjoy guys as I am having a ball.

I assume the traction control is not fitted or not turned on as it is raining quite heavy in Sydney and I am getting very sideways when the boost comes on.Where is the switch or do the utes not have this fitted?.

My car now is under a oil consumption test from ELN Ford. They were very professional in there approach to my situation not like the first idiot dealer that I took my baby to and returned it with dirty paw prints all over it,I nearlly shoved the service adviser in a big bag in the back of my ute and threw him off the hawksbury bridge. ELN did a full check,Plugs out to do a leak down plus pulled off all Turbo hoses to make sure the turbo was not faulty and no fault found. They refilled my oil level to where it should be after the other dealer over filled it by about half a litre and sealed my engine to be checked in another 2000km. Blowing blue smoke seems to have gone away at the moment but still does not tell me why the oil level was so low?.I shall post another topic in the next couple of weeks on this subject. I feel the dealer who I bought this car off is to much of the blame as when I picked up the car after tradeing my AU2 XR8 the main Turbo pipe was not even connected so no power but you live and learn. They have lost a customer for good now who updates every 2 years so there lose. These people or dealers only survive on repeat business so they have lost my business for ever.I drive currently 1 hour to get good service and have found a dealer that will do it.Wish I bought the car from them in the first place.

Dear Ninka. I have had a few problems as well with warranty items and exposeing my car to the backward service departments so I have a contact address inside Ford that seems to work. The lady is called Katherine Murray and she has access to the technical department that will ring your service department to fix these problems. Her mail address is [email protected] She will make sure your dealer is not playing games with you mate as they must all be sent to the same training course on how to not give customer service.
  7. Hey Guys and Girls. I have had my XR6T ute for 1 month now and have noticed signs of blowing smoke after start up when hot. When I checked the oil level after 4000km it was reading only half.Being a registered mechanic signs have shown that maybe I have faulty Valve Stem Oil seals,Thus leaking down past the guides after shutdown for at least 10 minutes. After a very painfull inspection by the dealer which left dirty paw prints all over my baby they said nothing was wrong which is crap.I have heard as I am in the Automotive industrie that a few cars have had valve Stem oil seal problems. Is anybody out there looseing oil or blowing smoke after starting when hot?.I have lost all confidence in the dealer network and want some sort of explaination.Help guys.
