BF ute system, good choice?
So I have just got myself a 2006 XR8 magnet ute, tuned engine and auto ecu's, full loud exhaust, so now that I've gotten it back to a roadworthy state. I'm looking at upgrading the stock sound system to something with a bit better quality. I spent all last night reading through countless topics on speaker selections, upgrades etc, when I'm home tonight, I'll spend some more time on speaker selections, front speaker upgrades etc As it is right now, it has stock 5x7" paper cones all round, with an Aux input plug in kit, along with an Alpine 12" type S sub and amp behind the passenger seat, spliced into the rear speaker output on the ICC (according to what the previous owner told me) My plan is to do a budget upgrade, nothing that requires a new amp to power the speakers, no fancy splicing of anything, just a simple easy upgrade. However, my initial plan is to sound deaden the whole ute using this product http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/172151413208 It's a cheap option, 50% more than Dynamat bulk packs, I'll strip the interior and do the inner and outer door skins, floor, roof, rear section, anywhere I can fit some basically, and probably have leftover for my Datto too, and at $175 it seems like a good choice. Next step would be to just replace all four speakers with some bolt in 5x7" replacements like these http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/172151413208 I dont want anything too powerful for the ICC to control, or too large to make fitting them a custom task, cutting metal for speakers is something I hate doing. Other option would be to replace the 5x7" speakers with something like these in the rear http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/121952384412 Having read last night that the stock rear speaker mounts rattle with anything better than stock in them, this might be a simple rear upgrade, then decide on what I want for the front. Are 6x9" mounts even worth considering seeing as I have a sub already? http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/222034785929 I feel that with the sound deadening and the coax 5x7" speakers all round, totalling $325, I think I'd be pretty happy with that upgrade, correct me if I'm wrong, the next step would be to replace the front door speakers with some splits, but that's where I'd probably have to add an amp to power them. More research required here. Any input on my choices would be greatly appreciated, thanks.

19X9 +20 On The Front?
Which blog of his? I've read a couple but both were vague about what he's done to it

Autotech Install Herrod Intercooler In 335Gt = 435Rwkw
That's a damn nice power output! They mention that the exhaust is custom but does anyone know who made it, if it's a brand etc, as it looks amazing

19X9 +20 On The Front?
I read that he didn't want to touch the guards of his brand new ute, but he must've rolled the lips at a minimum. I'm more than happy to though

19X9 +20 On The Front?
After some more spare time spent searching I have found some good specs. 18x9.5+12 in the front and 18x10.5+12 in the rear thanks to nigels BF ute (PNUMTK) no guard work, just firm suspension and camber. I don't need or want 19"s or 20"s

19X9 +20 On The Front?
NIGEL has done it again, that is exactly what I was after, and guess what his other car is?! A Silvia I've been using the search function, I hate starting new topics when it's been covered before, but I'm currently only on my iPhone, and it sux to browse

My Fg Ute With Custom Tray
I personally wouldn't pay $2g for a full set of them, they better be a light rim then Black roof would look good too

19X9 +20 On The Front?
I guess that desired look has come from my previous cars, all being lowered Nissan silvias with big offset rims. I know it's a pointless undertaking, but I like the flush look of a rim with the guard, the 235 was just an example though, but with a wider rim and the same width tyre, (I'm sure you all know) you get tyre stretch, hence closer tolerances can be obtained, less sidewall flex so the rim can be wider whilst the tyre still fits under the guard. I guess I'm looking down the path less travelled and I know why I am, because it's more work required, plus I haven't seen a single photo of a falcon with big offset guard filling rims. If I can get a 265 on a 10" rim on the front without getting out a sawzall then I'll do that over a 225 20" any day

19X9 +20 On The Front?
So a 19x10 +20 rear is spot on then, Can a 9.5 fit on the front with a 235 and some negative camber if it's a +20 or would something with even less offset be a better option. I like to see the guards filled, even if it requires a little pump/flare to stop the rubbing

19X9 +20 On The Front?
I'm looking at getting a BF ute soon (xr6 turbo of course) and have been studying up on what wheel specs can fit easily. And it seems the most common answer is 8.5" +35 or there abouts. My question is would a 9" +20 protrude from the guards and if so by how much? Has anyone got pics of some decent offset rims on a falcon? And would a 19x10 +20 fit under the rear without dramas?

My Fg Xr50T Ute
Love it, what's the specs on the wheels?

Weight ?
Suzuki malisha - so you saved 6 kg but in the process raised you CoG and now have no ability to put the stock wheel back if you need the whole use of the tray Does anyone know what the wellbody tub weighs if unbolted and separate? What about F to R weights? I might have to play around once I get my ute and check and confirm the weights

Weight Reduction
2grand for each option there, and probably around 50-60kg weight saving A titanium exhaust saves a bucketload over a stock system, my mates Toyota chaser has a titanium system, we fitted the thing laying on the ground lifting it up with one Hand each - stupid light Fixed carbon fibre seats (say Bride for example) on custom rails would save 15kg a side maybe more Problem is you are fitting parts that are illegal (bonnet) unless ADR approved or compromise comfort - exhaust and seats But for me, it's part of my car life, I live modding cars and accept what changes are made if there is benefits elsewhere.

My Fg Ute With Custom Tray
I like it, and I think this is one of the only times a black bonnet actually works

8.48@165Mph - Theres A New Leader
Amazing effort, I'd love to see a detailed build of what was required to achieve such a great result in such a heavy car. But like all leading drag cars there are always secrets. Many aero mods? Much weight reduction yet? Basic motor specs?

Henz's New BF, Old XR6 Turbo & New Harley
Willwood brakes are an expensive option to go to smaller but still effective brakes. I've never been much into drag racing but can you get/make front runners in 17", that'd seem like an easier way to do it, keep your big brakes too.
