yeah it was all legally done on private roads Where are all these private roads that anyone can access and race on? Some people must have long bloody driveways.
  2. Its called mass production and poor quality control  If you want BMW build quality you need to pay BMW prices.
  3. Only advertised prices I have seen recently are on www.discountnewcars.com.au. Man XR6 NA $34655 ($4000 off) Man XR6T $41505 ($3700 off) Man XR8 $46130 ($4000 off) I seem to recall a recent post about $39990 manual XR6T's (in Canberra I think).

Has anyone ever given the live chat a workout?
  5. Some risk with going illegal - when a friend was having his car inspected at the Motor Registry, they tested the tint and found it darker than legal. He subsequently had to rip the side window tint off while there (apparently back is not a problem?) to register his car. He had driven it from another state on a short term registration permit so needed to register it then and there to drive away in it.
  6. nothin to understand God666 - edited a post and had to put something in there.

BA_Turbs, Have you tried turning off the CD Compression? (CDC I think on the display). I found it really opened up the range and clarity.
  8. why not????? PHASE 3_PASHEN mentions that (despite big performance) it's not a V8 or a V8 Supercar. I think a Phase III T has it's own credibility and doesn't need to look like a V8 dedicated race car.

I remember the quality of Expensive Daewoo switches/buttons like cruise and audio. I'd prefer something a bit more mechanical/definate for gear changes.
  10. whoops - see Training Wheels status.

I found the site through an internet search after I picked up my XR6T. It would have been nice to know about it before I got the car, but I wouldn't change a thing (even though judging by some threads quality/reliability seems to be a bit of a Ford work in progress). I've had V8's and a WRX, but they don't compare to the T. I bought it in an end of FY sale (discontinued colour - acid rush) and it was in the showroom, so didn't get to choose options but luckily it had SSS and premium sound and I got to pick it up 2 days later. This site is very addictive. Great attitude and great info. Didn't intend on modifying it because of warranty and insurance, but am starting to imagine more herbs...
  12. You might attract a defect for ride height too??? Imagine taking it all off again. :o The whole rice thing though I reckon is part of pretending to be what you're not. A Phase III T is an awesome car but it's not a V8 Supercar so why try to make it look like one?
  13. to a whinger also: I know something that will fix that for you. Why don't you try half a glass of toughen the up.
  14. I feel like cheap sport... On the topic though, my service receipt also stated 10w30 and thanks to this forum I questioned it. The dealer agreed that it was supposed to be 15w40 but that it was only an admin error on the service receipt. After long discussion they (apparently) changed it for 15w40. They were either messy or clever enough to spill oil on the engine.

Recently received an email spoofing attempt asking me to confirm my ebay logon and password. It appeared to come from an ebay email address but was fake. Can only think that people might try to get your details to increase bids on their items? Who knows.

Michael, I'm new to this site, but have you seen the valuation areas of Drive and Carpoint? Drive lists the value of a 2003 auto sedan that has travelled 33,000 kms as: $33390-40810 private sale $31300-37100 trade in value $43700-52440 dealer price And a 2003 manual as: $32760-40040 private sale $30800-36400 trade in value $42800-51360 dealer price http://www.drive.com.au/buy/market_value/ These are based on the Glass's Guide and obviously wouldn’t include options such as sat nav/DVD. Your change over seems within the trade in values. I have previously taken figures from these sites when trading cars and have always been able to achieve better then the figures quoted due to vehicle condition etc. There are several mentions on this site however about relatively poor T private sale prices.
