I use the HDI and get 372RWKW on 98. Higher intake temps than we want but it goes fine. I'm getting a custom one made at the moment and will be selling the HDI afterwards. edit: apologies, just re-read your post. Mines an FG so fitment may not work.

Just Car was cheapest for me. Disclosed all modifications to them. Premium only went up $50 a year for mods. I'm 32, no finance - Age was a major factor for them.

the others are outside playing

^ ? haha the what?

^ yea I know. I didn't however wish to post a rude reply to your misguided assumption. To answer your question - No, my wife has never asked or suggested I sell my car. We have 3 cars and as per my ad - I haven't been driving mine much, I've been driving our new car. I'm about to take my part time work into full time operation and require a more practical car for what I do, something like an SUV or wagon. The F6 isn't practical for all my gear (about 6 large Pelican Cases). It's fun, I'll miss it and like I said in the ad - I'm in no a rush to sell it. Just putting it out there, if someone offers the right price - I'll let it go. A little part of me wants to keep it in the garage as my 'toy'. I will certainly be taking a loss if it sells - it has some lovely bits on it and is a pleasure to drive.

No, she doesn't come with the car...Just the car with some factory parts.

Nah, I still like it. I'm at that point where A) I put it down and let it go or B) keep blowing cash on it I'm trying to be a grown up now. Simon changed a couple idle numbers - perfect ever since.

Because no one seemingly looks at the classifieds - please share around before I change my mind. Thanks http://www.fordxr6turbo.com/forum/classifieds/item/2554-2009-fg-f6-372rwkw-on-98/

I think a twin plate NPC unless anybody advises against it. Clutch lost its grip at 1100Nm, it slips all the time now :/
-
I'd noticed it slip on the road and today we couldn't get a single run out of it. Just lets go when the torque comes on
-
At morpowa now. Clutch just let go at 3500rpm. Guess that's it for the day

Hdi Intercooler Are They Any Good ?

Well this derailed rather quickly -
Thanks for the message bizkets. I can't reply so I'll paste it here: I'm seeing Simon tomorrow so I'll see what he reckons. I'm happy with the power I've got now, particularly the torque. I think a clutch will be my next expense and then I'll see about the cooler for when I decide to push over the 400 mark. It gets crazy hot in Adelaide, especially where I am so the better cooler might be worth it. I measured mine, with just the X4 controller - 18 degree ambient and my intake temp was 24degree when cruising at 110kmh in 6th and climbed to 32 degrees under heavy (full) 4th gear acceleration but quickly dropped back to 24. If yours is only a few degrees over ambient - I'd say it's worth it. Did you say he's not making any more?

That thing is massive. What did it cost you?
-
Custom cooler? Tell me more.

Do you know how to download the datalog from the Xcal 4 controller? -

Correct. I agree with your statement. But I don't think anyone considering the HDI cooler fits into your "spending up" group. I did this on the cheap...very cheap. Everything was cost price except the exhaust and morpowas time in labour and tuning. I'm happy with it. I'll see how it goes in summer, but being in Adelaide where it gets up to mid 40s, I'm not expecting miracles. -
Slipped on the roller, got a massive spike in it. Tune was same same Yes 372 for the sake of the argument.

Hdi Intercooler Are They Any Good ?

^ I guess so. I see lots of cars with the same parts but very different results. Lots of factors I guess. But anyways, as per the thread - they're ok in my opinion. Works for me -

Yea that's a valid point, I haven't noticed it get slack yet after a few consecutive pulls on the street. But note the dyno sheet, that run is the 32nd run. Tuner did mention intake temps were higher than typical. Which id be upset by if I spent $2k on a cooler, but I didn't, I didn't even spend $500 and I installed it myself. So pretty cheap power if you ask me. Who here races their falcon? Most guys here drive it as their daily and do an occasional drag day which is like 1 run. I saw one falcon with insane power at the drags once...it didn't even have a cooler. Bandwagons will always exists cause everybody "heard" or "has a mate with one" etc. But for the benefit of the forum, my results should clear up the "300rwkw max" that people claim about these coolers. I'm not saying they're better than PW or Nizpro, I'm just sharing my results and showing they're not sh*t like people say they are. I like the clamps - I think they're awesome. Look cool too -
Nothing wrong with the HDI in my opinion. Simon reckons it's intake temp was higher than other brands but he did like 30 runs in it so I'm not sure if that had something to do with it. 370 is fine, 3rd breaks loose so I don't see the point going for more. I mean if someone gave me a nizpro cooler - id try it. But I'm not rushing out to replace it.

No I'm not tuning the trans, I have a manual transmission.
