  1. You will have a hard time fitting any wheels with a dish over the brembos. Unless you use a big spacer!
  2. Leigh, your work is just art! mate - always a pleasure to look at your creations. We will catchup in the near future so you can see the progress and we can look at a couple of options to make adjustments for RACE MODE!
  3. Hey John, Yeah - I am still mad about the car and somewhat desperate for it to make it back to the track. We should see from really good progress this week with Supernats now behind us and I am hoping that we will hit the dyno either by the end of next week, or by mid January when the guys come back to work. We are working hard to step it up in the drag racing stakes, as there hasnt been a whole lot of focus on pushing Adams record....It has stood for a long time. Unfortunately, these things take time and as much as I am keen, it has to be done right the first time with so many components so that I can save alot of pain and wasted time in the future. The car will run a few new ideas, that havent really been done before on the XR6T, so should be pretty unique and innovative as well. I will keep you posted as it gets closer to time.
  4. Yes it is plumbed back in, but room is a little tight in that area, mainly due to the steering arm. I havent seen yet exactly where the pipe plumbs back in as the car is off the hoist at the minute. Hopefully not too much longer before the first stage is finished and we will see how the set-up goes. Onwards and upwards from there!
  5. Here is a nice setup....that will be making an appearance soon!
  6. Jules - know how you feel - The storm seemed to just go either side of me at Stanhope Gardens. Not that it matters.......car is still in the shop.......
  7. A friends car in cherrybrook - 1 year old dodge calibre. Its a write off and she will get a brand new replacement.... :o
  8. Those wheels are HP Design 20x8.5's alll round. I have sold them now. Wait till my new ones go on - something a little different! The HP's in 20" chrome were worth about $3000 with tyres a few years back. I believe they are a little cheaper now for a new set. Check out Tempe tyres website.
  9. Whiteline group 4 coilovers - set on a very neutral setting to keep the ride reasonably comfy
  10. The issue is even worse it seems with the earlier model cars. Im not sure why you are surpirsed it failed. 300rwkw in a car that weighs close to 2 tonnes is going to strain a stock gearbox that is mass produced. Take it from me - Ive had 5 boxes in 2 years. You dont even want to guess how much coin I have thrown at gearboxes in that time
  11. Have to agree with Trough Lolly, there is a fiar bit of variation, either in the original box or th upgrades - I went through two Kewish 4-speeds and a Kewish 3-speed with 306rwkw. Car has still only done about 20,000kms, 5 boxes later....
  12. Im in - for atleast some of the events - gotta take some time off work so will be sweet. My car should even be ready by then!
  13. I have fit 275 30s on the rear of 20 x 8.5 inch rim. They fit pretty well. Guards need to be rolled though.
  14. 10's are the new 11's Phil - atleast there are a string of cars punching out mid to high 10's at the minute. You cant stay stuck in the past for ever.......... Looking forward to catching up when you come down - I am hoping to have my ride back in 2 weeks, so I know how you feel having to miss BVW3.
  15. Great work Sutty - good to see you have been busy doing something lately! Especially with Jeffro starting to up the ante a bit for you V8 lovers Keep us posted on where to next! Next time we all get together it will certainly be a different lot of cars/engines from BVWII
  16. Dont forget they say that a bird crapping on you is Good Luck
  17. Which state are you in? If you let us know - local guys can point you in the right direction.
  18. Yeah Dan, hes a great bloke and I first saw his work on calaisturbo.com and a manifold on my mates 8sec VL BOOSTN. The results certainly give you a hint of the quality and the effectiveness of his workmanship. I know that the manifold will take everything I can throw at it. As for you DBOSS - there is still much to be done - but Im sure those billet axles you gave me today will certainly help
  19. Thanks Chris, when all the other goodies go in (including your airbox) it should be interesting! As for boogeying - that's the plan. Hopefully all will go the way I think it will, but as you know - its generally a lot longer road than you first think!
  20. Just wanted to post up some new pieces that I have had made for my car. A huuuuge thanks to Leigh at Extreme Turbo Manifolds and Rob at Competition Coatings Some before and after pics of the craftmanship Leighs work is exceptional and he has gained a huge reputation and following in the VL scene and can now offer products for the XR6T. I know the first thing you will ask is HOW MUCH? Well Leigh tells me that a manifold would be $1200 for single entry and $1400 for twin entry. He also can do great deals on turbosmart gear - wastegates etc. He can be reached for enquiries on: 02 4262 8774
  21. My C9 cooked itself with 306rwkw. When I had it rebuilt again, I made sure also that it would hod serious HP and had all the good bits fitted - including a transbrake. that's why I said that you need to consider this right from the start. Having spent a minimum of $15K now of gearboxes in less than 2-years from buying the car new, I beleieve I have finally got a box configuration which will last...atleast for the next power stage. I hope.....
  22. I have a 3-speed C9 and it is very streetable. It depends what you like. It has a fully manualised valve body. The car consumes more fuel as it has no overdrive, but will handle reasonably big power. The conversion will cost you around $9,000, depending to what specs you get the C9 built to - as they can be built to handle different power levels as well.
  23. Put me down as a maybe as well! Just got to check the calender!
  24. Ive run 11.3 with 306rwkw and have a little more in it but its a standard bottom end. I believe blueboost has the same challenge but ran 10.95 on about 330rwkw.
  25. Yeah no worries - see below. It is direct replacement piping for all pipes except the lower turbo pipe.
