  1. they are flexible little buggers, you see them on their bike getting hit by a car, they go flying onto the windscreen then roll onto the ground and they get back up. I like the fact that some of them are oblivious that they've just been in an accident or hit the cyclists and just keep going
  2. I've got an 09 XR6T Manual that I've had since April this year, recently I've noticed my car not running too well, it idles and runs ok but when putting the foot down the power just doesnt seem to be there. Everyone who has been in the car says its running fine and me thinking there is loss of power is just because I'm used to the car now. Last night I was tinkering in the engine bay and grabbed onto the pipe going from the turbo to the intercooler and noticed the pipe moved? so I grabbed the pipe and noticed it was wobbly as! Turns out the hose clamp that clamps the pipe to the turbo was loose!!! I tried tightening the hose clamp and noticed it wouldnt get any tighter, after further inspection I noticed the teeth on the hose clamp has flattened out not allowing it to tighten properly. A quick trip to AutoBarn and a few hose clamps later and the car feels better than the day I got it!!! I replaced that particular hose clamp but will be replacing them all now that I've seen how crap the stock ones are I would highly recommend anyone with a stock FG to do this as the stock hose clamps are cheap China sh*t, I have no idea how long its been like this for but I am glad I found the problem and the car is back to its old glory
  3. its a little quiet in here
  4. I think it would be a grey area, your not allowed to modify the OEM headlight at all! this includes different spec lights (HID headlamps), angel eyes or whatever else you feel like doing. The benefit here is the eye lids dont touch the OEM headlight, instead they sit over the top of the headlight
  5. so whats the go with lunch Rudiger? what did you decide? I did a quick drive from Warbuton to Marysville the other day, the road has had a portion relayed and is looking good! I only mention it because a few months back the road was knackered! monster pot holes everywhere... all good now though
  6. great idea Gary, you can count me in, the problem is do you think you would be able to get the numbers?
  7. The problem with angel eyes is they make your entire head light assembly defective as you have modified an oem part, even if electrically disconnected you have a ccfl tube or LED tube stuck inside your head light. The eye lids I can unclip in half a second and hand to the copper if he so wishes, pulling off my bov or replacing the center muffler might be a bit harder to do on the side of the road though. Anyway the eye lids aren't done yet and it will be up to the users discretion, the simple way is if you don't want them, don't buy them... Problem solved
  8. It doesn't worry me too much as they'll be clip in, so easily removed if a copper has a problem
  9. I'm starting to design my own eye lids for my FG XR6T. This is inspired by Toxic Beasts group buy for the BA/BFs - If the process turns out OK I'll be offering them to forum members, costing etc is unknown as I am just starting to check viability and feedback now. Any design ideas you guys have would be great, I will be making the moulds within the next 2 weeks and will do a run of Carbon Fiber and plastic (colour matched to body)to see how they look. hopefully will have my set done before Christmas and will take requests to be delivered early in the new year. Feel free to modify the image below with your eye lid ideas.
  10. For the fuel pump just turn the stereo up, you wont hear a thing then Not sure how to make the woman quiet... if you find a way let me know!
  11. these look fantastic, any chance of designing FG ones?
  12. the mass produced production car will be very different to the spec'd up version built to do the drifting. the production model will be some piece of crap just like the Tribuon
  13. I have no idea but would be interested in the answer, maybe bunna can shed some light?
  14. The stated error levels are interesting, so are the error levels of digital tv... Those stated and those experienced can be contradictory, but if your getting the results go for it!
  15. that is an insane vid, I wonder how many runs he had to make to get the final cuts? amazing drift work
  16. at least your problems sound minimal Gary, hopefully no internal damage
  17. Rudiger were you really online at that time (1:25AM)? mate that is way past your bed time
  18. I thought these cars didn't have an air flow meter but a map sensor after the throttle body?
  19. I got mine from tandy a while ago, I think they're around $80. Quite pricey compared to other brands but are fully rechargeable and come with a charging dock and head piece
  20. Go for a uniden one, I have the UH710SX, it has great range and great sound quality. The problem with the cheaper ones is it can be hard to hear other talking or other hear you talking due to poor quality speakers or mics
  21. I think your all being a little harsh, there's only 2 weeks until the cruise so a decision needed to be made, the only real options were the 5th or the 12th, anything after those weekends and we're getting close to christmas. After that people have christmas family commitments, work parties etc. The cruise list looks pretty good to me. Tell me if I'm wrong but I think the comments should be left to people who want to say something productive, not a general b*tch about the date. It's Rudigers first cruise as cruise controller, I don't think it should be full of this crap, compared to other cruise controllers he has done a great job. I base this on the fact that out of the vic cruise controllers Gary is pretty much the only one who has bothered to take anytime to organise anything this year and has done a great job!
  22. You shouldn't need a surge tank on that power, I had this happen once ever but it was at 200km/h on a private road with a little under 1/4 of a tank
  23. The numbers are starting to get up there now, that's awesome. Come on gee is not a race, and your slow as anyway
  24. ebay is great for small stuff, but I wouldn't buy big stuff off there. when a high priced item stuffs up I like to go into the shop to give them an ear bashing, an ear bashing over an ebay feedback or emails just doesn't give the same satisfaction
  25. how does it use GPS when the iphone/ipod doesn't have genuine GPS? GPS (global positioning system) needs a chip and antenna that will recieve lat and long from a satellite, interpret the data and give you as best a reading as it can, the more reference points it pulls from the satellites the more accurate your position is. The so called "GPS" in iphones is actually called AGPS or assisted GPS working off the triangulation of mobile phone towers, accurate to maybe 50 meters if it can get more than 3 towers. Without GPS it has no way to determine distance traveled, without knowing the distance travelled how does it work out your 0-100 time? the ihpone/ipod does not have a G sensor, it has an accelerometer, they are completely different! an accelerometer cannot give you actual G force readings, it can get close but not very accurate. doing a few calculations based on the inaccurate data its receiving from said senors will in turn give you bad readings to the user. just my 2 cents... I know this will cause some issues
