  1. I can tell you that fords Barra engine can have bad idleing problems if the wrong oil is used, I have come across quite a few that have the variable cam timing ball seized up du to the wrong or to thick an oil used. fortunately it is an easy fix, just remove the rocker cover and the plate at the front of the cam, you will find a ball bearing inside just clean it all up with carby cleaner and replace.
  2. I have a vibration at around 90 to 100 kph, now I know most of you will say tail shaft but I don't believe it is. I tested it by puting it on jack stands with the rear wheels at ride height, and running it up to 100, the vibration was still there and the left hand side made clicking noises but only every now and then. The CV joints feel good with no movement at all so I am at a bit of a loss as to what it might be. Can anyone help???
  3. I believe the build quality\\ty of the falcons is excellent, what I don't understand is why we don't export them to the USA, surly the average yank would love the turbo compared to some of the rubbish they have over there!! Old Rev Head. ps Moderator, I still can't see what I'm typing, any chance of fixing that??
  4. I could'nt agree more, I have a BF mk 2 Turbo 2006 model with 32,000 klms on it and it is faultless. not a squeek or rattle anywhere. Old Rev Head.
  5. As far as the tune and exhaust go, you should not tell them aif you have an accident they will state you have changed the cars specification from the factory settings and will probably go down the line of unroadworthyness.
  6. Don't get sucked in by silly statements from insurance companys, if your paper work states that your turbo has leather seats colour screen etc then they are obliged to replace or pay out on a write off, all that talk of receipts is nothing but bluff. my suggestion is try a better insurer, there are heaps of insurers out there just let them know you are shopping around it's amazing what some will do to get your business
  7. The problem here is that Dunlop use a chunky tread pattern and it is this that makes the noise, you need to look for a fine tread pattern, usually only found on the more expencive tyres. Old Rev Head.
  8. I have not bought my latest xr6t from Jarvis but in the past they have always been good to me service wise, and they are the only company I know of who give a unlimited milage 5 year warrany on all there new and demo vehicles, also a 5 year RAA road side service card and all at no extra charge.
  9. If you want a blown Expensive Daewoo join the hells angles, apparently they are quite good at blowing them up!!
  10. Speak to April at Jarvis ford at Gepps Cross she has a dark maroon one there for sale.
  11. This is a common fault with the dunlop tyres .
  12. The other statements are quite right, the T5 is a weak box, but there is help. A 6 speed conversion is expensive as are T5 parts here in Aust, but if you go onto the internet google the geerbox shop in the US and you can but all sorts of bute stuff to put into your T5. my boys and I race a XF ute with a 383 boss motor (about 460 hp) with a T5 built with close ratio gears all purchased from the above mentioned site the gears l/shaft f/shaft and bearings with freight cost lees than the l/shaft from a ford dealer here in Aust. Old Rev Head.
  13. If you are going to tow 2000kl then buy the V8 that's what it's designed for, turbo's, although capable will not like pulling that much weight.
  14. For those that winge about there new falcons need to go to a Expensive Daewoo dealership, test drive a new Late model camira then get back into your Fg and all your worries will just be forgotten!! Old Rev Head
  15. What's with some of these colours, Lime green, acids, who picks them???
