  1. that ghia looks sexy. I'll be living in townsville as soon as I get a job there so hopefully get a few cruises going.
  2. If it has been repaired in say NSW and you bring it up to QLD u will need to take it for another written off vehicle inspection (WOVI) to be able to get QLD rego and the car transferred into your name. costs about $400-$500 for a 1 hour inspection. then a roadworthy on top of that. I think a write off is if the repairs cost more that 80% of the cars market value.
  3. sounds good, let us know wen your heading down.
  4. baby
  5. LoL Funny u say that. My mate got pulled over in his V6 vp Late model camira once and the coppa asked if it was a 4 cylinder or 6 cylinder
  6. my step dad got defected for his zorst too loud. 3dB over. I didnt go down this year. had a change of plans on friday then no1 wanted to come with me on sat so I didnt go down. abit disappointed but probs would have got defected for my dark window tint anyways if they were being picky.
  7. I was just thinking about it now and realised that my car has a 6 speed conversion but still using the gear lever/knob from the 5 speed I pulled out. im not sure if they will be the same thread. I will still get you the thread size but if anyone else knows if the thread is the same between the 5 and 6 speeds let us know.
  8. I seen your photos you uploaded then a heap of posts were removed for some reason. the reason I dont just go buy 1 is because I like to make the stuff myself and I also figured if I want to change it to slots then I can always machine out the center pieces to slots either way (north to south or east to west)
  9. not sure whether I will be flow testing it. depends how I feel once iv finished it and if there is some1 near by that does does flow testing. well I wanted to go with the single holes originally but a few engineers at work thought it would be better with 2 single holes. I ended up going with single holes after what austcro said and because a few of the other manufacturers changed to single holes for a reason and thought that they would have done alot of r&d and figured out which one works best so I went with that. I will get a few pics of it during the construction stage
  10. Design is now finished. only thing missing is map sensor mount. I will sort that out when I trial fit the plenum coz I couldnt be bothered pulling everything off to get to it. All parts are in getting laser/water jet cut at the moment. should hopefully see them in a week or so depended on how busy they are. I went with 5.5L capacity
  11. hey mate, I got a custom knob drawn up at work ready to be cnc machined. I will get a thread size off it for u soon if u dont get it before then
  12. Ill Be heading down on Sat for a look. I remember last time they had the dyno there, there were a few cars with high figures the dyno stopped reading after about 450hp or maybe it was kw's (cant Remember which on it was)
  13. who is chooka?
  14. Thanks heaps for the info guys. I now feel confident enough to finalize the design. ill get some pix up once its done
  15. so I would be better off going for say 5-6L volume? Do you say keep the taper for a looks thing or because of the theory behind having one? I was planning on using studs on the hoses inside the plenum and using a nut on the underside of the runners accompanied by some threadlocker.
  16. my mate drew it up in autodesk inventor. that's what I was thinking of doing first was going with single holes and chamfer them on the inside of the plenum. it will be quiet simple to make them single holes again. I have read through the topic from 'f6 ute' that is pin in this section and his as around 3.9 liters so I was just basing mine around that. in that same thread people were saying that the greenslade one was abit on the big side. isnt the volume of the plenum supposed to be about 1.5 times the capacity of the engine? so if there is 4 liters in the plenum and 2 liters(guessing) in the runners that would make up the volume? or would I get away with and extra 500mm-1 liter as it would cut back on the taper of the plenum.
  17. Thanks for the replies. That Helmholtz it abit over my head. I will show them links to my mate who is designing it with me. GR8XR I know what you mean about slotting the holes the other way. I have seen it done somewhere on the net. I think the dude machined his runners out to suit the plenum aswell so would probs be abit pointless unless the runners were modified? I was just thinking about slotting it along the yellow line to cut down on the turbulence in the recess between the 2 faces. I got 1 design idea done so I have put a pic up to show you guys and see what you reckon. any feedback would be greatly appreciated. the volume of the unit is 3.9L but it can be changed quiete easily if the volume should be more. we can quite easily change the slotted holes back 2 single round holes if there is a reason to do so. if any1 knows roughly the volume of the other plenums on the market that would be a good guidance for me. I think if I keep the top the same height over the length of the plenum it works out to be 5.something liters
  18. Looking at making up my own plenum and im just after abit of advise. currently its in the designing stage and was wondering what would be the best volume for the plenum. now the hard part to try and explain. Yellow - is there any reason why they have these single ports and not 1 big port cut out along the yellow lines. looking at the runner flange face it is recessed on 1 side and could cut down on turbulence created between the to faces (Red Squiggle) if it was 1 big slot. was also wondering if someone could tell me what size hose fittings I would need in the green circled section. I will post some pics up of the design once it is complete Cheers
  19. good luck with it mate. hope its not to savage
  20. no worries ill try to remember. I got heaps to do this wekend
