You seems like an inteligent person but I honestly think your getting a bit too fussy and perhaps to ricey......... my T is my 7th new car in the past 20 yrs........and I have never had everything I wanted in them...........if this was the case, each car would be personally built and add a further $5K to the price........ If your not happy with your options and pricing from Ford, go buy a nice silver Hyundai Lantra with all your fancy options......!!! and dont forget your illuminated brake pedal.. Hi Mondie, I believe its the same for DLP TV's but won't put my life on it......... The tiny mirrors seems to be the cause of al this from what I had read on the internet... That was my main reason to go to an LCD projector........I already get enough migraines sitting in front of a computer writting programs day in day out...... What I would do before you buy is get the chance to sit in front of one for at least half an hour and see if you start to feel tired.......this is usually the first sign of the strain on the retina.......they become dilated and the blood vessals pump blood through them at an increased rate to cope the flickering of the color changes........ Really fascinating to read all this especially since I was ready to fork out $$$$'s ....... The salesman dont tell this sh*t to you probably cause they dont know.....it ws'nt until I got home that night and started my research like I always do before I purchase anything costing mega $$$$...... Anyway, hope this all helps...... Remember also that if it does not effect you and your family, it could effect friends you have round to watch the movies.........(something to consider anyway)....also remember it only effects around 1 in 5..... ciao dutchie

Mondie, I would agree with you except one important thing............ With a DLP projector, because it uses thousands of mirrors, 1 in 5 people can become succeptable to the 'flicker' effect which causes eye strain, headaches etc..... The reason for this is that our eyes can pick up the color changes in the DLP projector no matter what speed they change in......the LCD projector does not have this issue.... As for brightness, this issue is all about lumens and the quality of your screen. Dependant on the size of your screen and the quality of your projector, you should aim for at least 1000+ lumens projector....the bigger the screen, the more lumens you will need. (Lumens was the old calculation using candles to determine light conditions. 1 Lumen = 1 candle) If you wish to view it in daylight, you can get those screens with a slightly grey tinge to it thus brightning the color contrasts.......or pay extra money and get a better screen.... Personally I would stay away from any projector screen under $600 - $700....... There is also a lot of Taiwanese and Chinese made screens sold under some of the big name brand. Do your research...... A typical one is from LP Morgan.......good brand and quality screens......however, their Grandview screens (sounds fancy) are made in China and the quality is crap...... All Screen Technics are made in OZ from America light reflective materials...... Now as for XBox etc........I have not yet had the chance to play this on the screen... I do watch DVD's and Foxtel digital on a 6:1 JVC DTS Amp......followed by Bose (150 watts) speakers, Kef 100 (150 watt) centre speaker and a Velodyne CT120 (300 watt) Sub......followed in the rear by Dali (75 watts) sats.......all hooked up by Qudos cables and interconnects.... I then spent another $300 connecting TV, DVD, Video and Foxtel to the projector including SCART, Component etc .........blah blah blah.... Agree, it may not be as clear compaired to my 100hz 76 cm Loewe, but gee, it does a real good job and comes mighty close to Plasma.......and better then rear projector tv's....... Anyway, my opinion........ PS. I wonder if I can get this setup in the T???

Aniken, I would also like to throw a different view point on this and change the equation somewhat......... I have just installed a LCD Projector.......Epson EMP S1H thrown onto a premium CinemaPro 84" (210cm) screen from Screen Technics......both only new to OZ for past 4 weeks but getting numerous awards overseas......... I too have thought long and hard about this and even went so far as deciding to wait... Instead, last year I purchased a 76cm 100 hz digital Loewe tv only for me last week to install the projector.........better cinema experience ...... Quite simply this is an amazing set up for under $4K.....sure the quality is not as good as my 100hz tv, but it will outdo a large rear projector tv and even some Plasma screens out their.......I now have the best of both worlds...... To get the fantastic picture you need 2 things........a good screen and good cables..... I use the projector for DVD's and certain Foxtel events including sport........and use the TV for well everthing else....that way when I use the projector it is still special each time I use it.... The projector screen is a manual pull down one and pulls down in front of the entertainment unit and TV....... Some of the new LCD projectors are coming onto the market now and brands like Hitachi, Sanyo, Phillips, Mitsubishi, Benq and even Sony believe that for a real Home Cinema feeling, projectors are the only alternative at a fraction of the cost compasred to LCD Tv's........ Hope this help.......... dutchie PS My other hobby outside computers is Hifi/Home cinema...... PSS One important thing to note: Currently their is a pixelation problem with the current LCD Tv's.......if a pixel happens to go and its in the middle of your screen, (60% of the time) you are stuck with this bloody missing dot on the TV.......this can be annoying........ :banghead: At the moment, LCD are not stable enough to be problem free........

I dont believe that they are a club........just a group of Ford fanatics who, although some own XR6T's, a majority simple own other Fords (either sport models or otherwise.....) I think they have been around a while but have surfaced recently. Originally they were all a group of mates located in South Eastern Melbourne....... I believe they now have around 30 or so genuinly interested people in cruising once a month......... that's all I know......... dutchie PS otherwise give Barrie a call........

I would agree with xarh6turbo, if its power your interested in, I would go the XT6T and spend a further $1500 and get the Xede Chip bringing it up to 300Kw+ (210 - 220rwkw) and adding better brakes...... I would not buy the Premium brake package from Ford but perhaps another type around another a braking specialist $1500 mark........so for a further $3000 + $1000 premium sound add $46000 for the car...........you get a beast for just on $50K........negotiate the drive away, rego etc for free like I did and your laughing......... Anyway, my opinion.......... dutchie :banghead:

June 2004 build..........no problems at all exvept for occassional overboost on a cold morning.......(nothing serious touch wood)......only happened about 3 or 4 times since I had it......... Took it to Ford, and registereded on the computer........this was cleared 4 weeks ago and only had it happen once since then..............no big deal...........overboost would only last about 3 seconds until I took the foot off and reapplied it...... Very happy and best car driven to date...... dutchie

Just wondering with 2 different questions, With the SSS (Auto), when driving in manual, at what speed do you change gears? I noticed also on mine that when you move it from auto to manual it registers PERF (I think) and you need to either move the gear up or down...........which is it? thanks people dutchie

Yep, have to agree there Craig & Neil, It was a fantastic day out and one I will remember for a long time once I move my lung and kidneys back in place......... Man, that is one mean beast of a ute...........I would gladly pay you another $2.00 for another ride..........Who needs Royal Melbourne Show when you have a beast like that......... Might have to start saving bigtime and get the Xede chip within next 12 months...... A very big thanks to Neil and his great family, Miss Aly and family, Geea,wife and kids and everyone else.
