You would need to be a gun driver already, perhaps involved in some form of motorsport already such as Karting and then you would really need to be near or at the top of your class/category. Also the thing with that is for the beginner class you cant have any prior experince in go kart competing or mainsteam motorsport. So it would just be average Joe's having a go.

yeah I think if you win and during the season you crash the car then you would have to pay

Reading the latest Motor mag I noticed a small article showing that with an organisation called chance of a lifetime you can have the chance to win a season of motor racing fully paid for including pit crew, car, tyres etc. They go to each state around the country and for the sum of $995 you can have a go at driving a MoPro race car against other entrants. If you win you go to Oran Park for the final to possibly win the prize. the web site is www.chanceofalifetime.com.au What does everyone think about this? I would be interested in having a go as I have always wanted to drive race cars, (who hasn't?) but as I have no real driver training would there even be any point in taking part? Or any chance of winning? There are 2 other classes as well but they cost more. Killbot

Will be taking the T down to the strip this Sunday at Kwinana (In WA) Hoping to beat last best of 13.3, I doubt it though. Just wondering if anyone else will be heading down or wants to come? Would be good to see some more T's there to take on the Expensive Daewoo and Ricer brigade that is usually there. Killbot

I have never seen one with street cars, I have seen a quite a few break down half way down the quarter, pretty funny actually. I did once see a car that ran 8 seconds hit a wall and then flip onto its roof and slide all the way down the track with sparks flying, awesome stuff.

I was driving out of a shopping centre carpark the other day and I noticed the suspension was making a creaking noise coming from the front right of the car, it seems to be only making the noise sometimes.. Also now when I fang it around a right hand corner the car makes a "clunk" noise.. has anyone else had this problem?? The car is lowered but was making the clunk noise before it was lowered but not the creaking noise.

I have falken tyres on my 18's, I find the Dry grip to be excellent but in the wet not as good as the standard dunlops

I got Tim Slako to do my APS Phase 1 and he gave me a Unichip badge with it, looks pretty sweet under the turbo badge .

So are you still running stock shocks, I am assuming yes since you didnt mention it. Yeah I am still running the standard shocks, I didnt think it was really worth getting new ones even though it might make the ride a bit smoother

It doesn't looke any different to standard ride height!? My ute its way lower than that and it was lowered 30mm. THe back droped 50 though the leafs but the front was 30 and there is barely enough room to get my fingers under the guards. Maybe cause its heavier? Who knows. Really? I dunno I can tell you before it was lowered it was heaps higher hey made a huge difference with the lowering, mabey cos the ute is heavier like you said. I can also just get fingers into the guard

Geea I think low 12's is probably fast enough dont you think?? mabey not when 11's are attainable :lol: In Total the wheels cost $2750 on falken 235/40 R18 Rubber installed balanced etc. I think the rims themselves cost $410 each in the shadow chrome so $1640 just for the rims then add on what rubber you want.

Hey I can assure you the car is Blood Orange its just my crappy camera. Yep I put lovell (spelling?) springs in the car and they said they dropped it about 30mm could be a bit more though, it cost me $500.

Just got the orange beast lowered and put on 18" Shadow Chome Fury wheels what do you think? here is a pic

Thanks for our replies guys, very helpful. I think I will buy a semi-synthetic and go get a mechanic to do it for me, if its only gonna be around $30 then doesnt seem worth while even attempting it myself.
