  1. Wahoo ! The GT is on pole for Bathurst - Let's hope for a one / two with Frosty
  2. Thanks for your understanding - much , sincerely appreciated !!!
  3. Opps Just learned from a dealer today - finally a dealer who knows his stuff and can talk to a customer in the appropriate manner - not surprising the dealer is a 'country' dealer - eager to move the FPV stock locally and interstate . They confirmed that in fact the dealer could elect to have the RSpec equipped with SatNav - but it was something that had to be selected from the get go Apologies to FPV Tanny and others whom I may have offended by incorrecty stating that the RSpec wasn't not available with SatNav - my fault for listening to sales staff whom know nothing about what they are selling - Another dealer crossed off my list !!! Sorry to have offended

Hello I recall someone saying earlier, whether you're financing $70k or $80k the monthly repayments and balloon are not to dissimilar - so that argument continued to suggest why not buy the RSpec instead of the GT - Why not???? I started my journey looking to move into a new FG F6 and having driven the GT , I now stead fast on the GT - GT with SatNav that is.. However, there continues to be romantic feeling about having a RSpec. What has been the consensus amongst new owners of GT / GT-P / lucky few with RSpec ? A dealer last week quoted me $1200pcm with a ballon payment at 35% on a RSpec , which wasn't too different to what I had been quoted on a GT Work has allowed me to be able to purchase the car on Novated Lease - however, as I will only drive the car on weekends - although the savings on GST is a lure , I not sure that the monthly salary sacrifice covering all expenses is something I feel very comfortable with . Your thoughts on Novated Lease would also be very appreciated Many thanks again
  5. Good Morning In preparation , what I have learned , is that the power levels for the GT in standard trim is around 270rwks, a dyno tune pulls them up to 360rwks at a cost of ~$1800.. There are small gains in cat back exhaust system of around 5 to 10 rwks .. Upping the blower speed does very little and same of intercooling - although helpful as confirmed earlier by KPM . Others with first hand experience , will be able to shed a more accurate summary of costs - v - rwks - v - reliability . I for one , am keen to hear from those in the know , and whom have moved away from standard trim to modded Cheers
  6. Happiness provides us with the fuel to thrive and flourish - thanks Ford for the GT335 :sungum:
  7. Good Morning Congrat's on the Winter White R Spec - like so many of us recently - whom 've driven the GT - it is so hard to shell out the additional $ for the RSpec without SatNav - however , agree that the limited no' makes it so much more desirable .. I am so 'green with envy !!!' Good Morning It is interesting to hear your comments and frustration with the dealership .. I can only echo your thoughts and frustrations .. Last week , a dealership called me, and stated that I should come down on Sat as they written up a deal on the GT Mk 11 Winter White - a car I had demo , but now had done in excess of 7,000 k's - and they were now asking $62k ..I stated I was not interested as I had reconfirmed that I was keen a Winter White with SatNav - they replied, that they understood and if , I was to make a appointment for Sat - they move heaven and earth to write up a deal - agreeable to all parties on a Winter White with SatNav .. Got there at the agreed time - was make to wait 90 mins - the salesman , revisited the Winter White with 7,000 ks for 20mins - before he understood I wasn't interested , and then moved on to what I wanted - and basically , what I got was no different, or better than what I already knew .. $71k with SatNav - Got Nothing for my time and effort . That is now , another dealership I have crossed off - Gee .. at this rate. I won't be purchasing a car from anyone ??? Interesting thou, the dealership stated that the RSpec had already been allocated to dealership, and it did not come with factory SatNav - and they sold a Black RSpec the week before at $84k - no SatNav - If you 've managed a RSpec with factory SatNav @ $80k - no have done extremely well !. The principal' of these dealership's have alot to answer for .. the buck has to stop with them , in what people they offer (knowledge, attire , attitude , gamemanship and empathy for the customer) in their salespeople .. Won't blame Ford !! :sungum:
  8. Hello Chilli R Congratulations - I am so happy for you - knowing first hand the stress involved in the different stages of the decision process. Alias , that is now behind you - I am sure as I read your thread - I could see you smiling . Many thanks for sharing your joy, I look forward to the pic's once you 've the new wheels on the car Thanks
  9. Hello Like yourself , I 've had White , Mercury and numerous other Silvers(Silvers always appear clean) .. Never been a fan of White - however the Winter White with Black stripes and Black wheels is the new 'Black' . I recently purchased a Honda Civic Type R for my daughter in Black - she loves it - but no sooner do you wash it and it looks dirty and agree the swirl marks would drive me to 'drink' If you scroll through the forum , you will find many examples of colours - . As a start - have a look at PlayRz thread headed in FPV Performance - 'Few Pics of the F6 & GT-P' .. It will give you a good guide to what a White with Black wheels and Black with Black wheels looks like - I sure you will agree - the white is the new black !!! I taken a few pictures of the GT's I demo - Vanish with Gold Stripes , White with Black Stripes and Red with Black Stripes - Each time I scroll through the pictures - I agree the White with black is my choice .. Note **The Vanish does look like much in a photo - but agree with the earlier thread - in life it is very nice !!! I also agree with your thoughts - SatNav must be optioned in the car - which is disappointing in alot of ways - as many of the demo's do not have SatNav fitted and the GT-P are $10k more I can't get a Winter White - then I am going to fall back to the the Vixen with Black Stripes - Red has been said to go faster Nice to hear - I not the only one going through the pain of choice Cheers
  10. It funny , how you read about both the pro's and con's of each car, and you can see yourself knodding with each sentence , and that small voice deep down inside , telling you , I told you so , , that is the exact reason you should choose the F6, then the same voice tells you - that it the reason you should choose the GT It is very easy to understand , why , who ever , is passion about their drive , go's around and around . In truth , the answer is , the sound and whine of the GT , the badge , and the balance ride, and performance of the F6 - Done !! Where can I buy it ? - You can't, hence back on the merry go round . In fairness to the earlier threads .. yes , a drive is required , but as the said vehicle's offer so much in their own special way - the drive , only goes to annoy you further . If the comparison in stock form was 5.4 GT against F6 - we would not have a single thread asking to put us out of our own misery .. However , the GT335 - v - F6 , both vehicles are excellent - and I am afraid I can not help those of us whom are finding the choice still so difficult as I myself find myself in the some sh*t ! I feel we (those of us in need of help) need to meet on a Thurs night , and work through the workshop LOL hahaha :sungum:
  11. Call me what you like(worry wort comes to mine), but I love the fact that this KPM Streetfighter units - does away with drilling holes in the back of the manifold - Just thinking about someone drilling holes in the back of manifold - makes my stomach turn .. Agree with the earlier comments - $4.9 with warranty is steep - however , I forsee the likely hood of less and or no problems with his set up against the reliance of someone pulling your unit off, then drilling 3 holes that are perfect in every way .
  12. Good Morning It would appear , from the threads that 'those' whom have sampled the 5.0 SC and have either come from the T6 or new to FPV , are pleasantly surprised , that we have a motor that responds to your right foot and heart as mentioned in the written material before it . Original I elected to sell my BF F6 to move into a FG F6 , but once pursuaded (it took them 15mins) by the dealer principal to drive the 5.0 SC , I been going around the twist , whether I should stay with the F6 , for all the reasons F6 drivers know , whom change up to the GT for all the reasons those of us in my age group know and love. Watching Moffat sitting on the couch with Neil Crompton over the weekend , talk about the old GT and Cobra XC only continues to make you smile - something I am afraid the GS or F6 don't have - 'history', and something that means nothing to the current group of drivers of the FPV range .. Agree , the GS , makes sence for all the reasons of dollars - but (I am afraid to say , and a little embrassed) - does nothing to the emotion of holding a GT I had hoped , by securing a 5.4 and tipping in some dollars I would be able to achieve , both the emotion happiness , and drive / performance , but alais , I knew , as confirmed by many that this was not possible . With the 5.4 , you get the badge, the price , but you MUST be happy with the lack of performance as compared to the F6. As I will only be using the car sparily , I can not bring myself to spending $80k for RSpec and or GT-P , so , I am going to have to sit tight and wait for a very low k GT , with a price of around low to mid $50k's (although , it is very hard to find a GT with SatNav - unless you order it from new , or else the car's have done 30,000+ k's and are sill asking low $60k's) - spend $6k on intercool and tune and then I am done . Who knows - at this rate - and with my lack of success thus far , I might have to fall back to the 2011/2012 FG F6 Many thanks :sungum:
  13. Good morning Earlier I confirmed that having own a F6 , a eight would never be considered. However, I drove the GT335 and fell in love with the badge, whine, and performance. As the GT 335 demo are been moved from dealer , due the elapsed time on the yard and ever increasing k's , it has also meant that the older GT 315 begins to follow the trend , with pricing seen as low as $40's for low k Maybe , amongst us , we have those whom have traded up fro the 5.4lt to the 335 S/C , or eve, currently own a 5.4lt and have recently mod their vehicle against selling it to purchase the new GT 335. What are your thoughts about taking possession of a 5.4lt and then added a $15k S/C mod , against buying the GT 335 in stock form? Or , is the $15k S/C mod necessary to bring the 5.4lt near enough to similar performance of the GT335 ? . Can similar performance be achieved without the S/C ? I am afraid I know answer, but it does not hurt to ask, as you certainty don't know everything, and it might be possible that $40k GT315 can deliver the same excitement as that of the new GT335? Many thanks
  14. Last week , I was very lucky to get the opportunity to see the black/red R-Spec before it got driven away by the new owner , and as I walked away , I wasn't too disappointed that I had missed the opportunity to own it - However, as I posted in a earlier thread - the Winter White is cetainly in a leagur of it's own - for me , White with stripes is the new black - porn if you will !! However , I must agree with the earlier threads at $82k drive away - it's a very big pill to swallow - when I have to consider the difference I have to make up from moving from a BF to the R-Spec - I want to do it - but ??? Lets see what happens after I seel the current girl
  15. Add some stripes and they certainly provide some 'presence'.. Have always considered it - but had never thought that it was that cost effective .. At that asking price - painted and delivered - why won't you ?
  16. Spinning replied to ozking1's topic in XR8 & GT
The local dealer called to ask if I was interested in having a look at the R-Spec GT before it was shipped to its new owner ? . I jumped at the opportunity to have a closer up look . I must say , having had a look , I am not a fan of the orange/red wheel set , with the matching colour in the flog light surrounds . I can honestly say , I am not disappointed at all - that I had failed to sure a Black R Spec @ $80k odd .. However , whom knows whether in years to come , whether or not I will live to regret the missed opportunity ???
  17. Hello Earlier in a thread I had stated ' having driven that 5.4lt V8' the decision to go Turbo was the right one . Many before me have stated bang for your buck is exceptional only to be matched by the much more expensive European models... I vowed I would never revert back to the V8 - however I then demo the GT and things have all of sudden got a little 'grey'. I don't wish to reignite the discussion as to whether to purchase a GT - v - F6, however in line with this thread , given the current availability of 2009/10 5.4lt for around the low $40's with very low K's when you consider the age (An example is a 2010 ute with 30k - $18k spend on a Herrod Supercharger 500kw asking $44) What are your thoughts around whether this unit or similar units could they be viable/a consideration at that the asking price against say a 2009/10 F6 with higher K's. Many thanks again
  18. Bellato Your 2 cents worth of comments , is worth much more !! There is a good feeling to hear , what you had possible thought was very much on the money . Easier to hear comments from those whom have experienced the process and of trails of their decisions. Many thanks for your comments
  19. Hello WA G6ET I loved what you have done with your G6E ............So much so, I stated looking at the model range to see whether or not , the model could be a option ?. Did you purchase the car new ? or had you purchased the car secondhand with the view of modifying to suit your needs and look you were after ? Many thanks
  20. Good Morning Having decided that I now moving the BF FPV F6 Ute and moving into a FG .. Original I thought (having driven the GT) , that I would move into a GT from the F6 .. later on reflection , and some reading on the experience of many F6 owners , I agreed with their findings and thought I would stay with the F6. Now the problem arises , following further reading - if , as imagined , I moved into a new F6 , how would it be possible to mod the vehicle to 400rwkw - now the standard - which was once - 300rwkw if the vehicle is under warranty - I couldn't afford to tip money into the project and then only to find , should something go wrong , which may have nothing to do with the mod - that I will have forfeited the warranty - Not a outcome I am seeking and or hope for . So .. if I want to get involved in the performance vehicle away from the 'stock' as released by the factory - are we saying , that I have either to purchase new - hold the vehicle until the warranty expires - and or purchase a BF - FG secondhand car with low k's preferred and then set about modifying .. Is another alternative to look for a vehicle which has already been mod ? .. Some, will recall the Winter White F6 Sedan for sale - boosting from memory 600rwkw for a asking price of $50,000 - certainly at face value it looked to be a cheap car, however , as I have not been part of the mod, you are then paying $50k for a car which in fact may require additional work to keep on the road as a daily driver ? - Thou - is a 600rwkw car be considered as a daily driver ??? ( this illustration is by no means a prejudice and deflamatory statement about the Winter White F6 above - I am trying to provide a example of what I face in my decision to purchase new or secondhand ) I look forward to your thoughts Many thanks once again :sungum:

Agree the white is the pic(not a fan of the fluro orange/red on the black - especially on the driving lights) - although I am disappointed if they won't offer the RSpec in auto ... Just as I coming to terms with purchasing the new car in auto - oops I said it twice now!!! Each time is gets easier - FPV decide to take the auto away . It seems I can't take a trick - Come on FPV give a old man a break
  22. Congratulation on your fine purchase - I wish I could make up my mind between the two !
  23. Good Morning I hope I am not starting something that has already been covered in depth - if so , I apologize , and hope you can point me to the earlier posting . Over the years - and as recently - their has been some discussion on replacing the stock rims with the upgraded size as reported to be available on the new GT Pather - Thinking is that if a GT has 9' available as stock - then we should also be able to upgrade the stock 8' rims to the stock 9' rims ... Whether this is correct or not - I am profess not to know - but what I am interested in - is :- * What insurance provider are currently managing stock F6 & GT are fair and reasonable annual pricing ? * Are the above named insurer's honourable when it comes to claims ? * Will this same insurer be able to support the policy should you wish to mod the vehicle ? That is you have notified them in full of the mod . * What insurer is best position to manage a policy from stock to mod ? * What insurer is best position to handle a mod vehicle - although from inception the vehicle may commence in your possession as stock Years ago , I ahd a very bad experience with GIO Ins - whether in short - my vehicle was stolen , and they sort to find any reason to void my claim - and as a result I was forced to take them to court in a effort to have my claim paid - This is a experience I do not wish to duplicate - so now , I am soooooooooo scared of doing mod to the car - as it appears other than Just Cars Insurance - there is no one else at a fair pricing point whom will manage the policy . So............over the past many years since the GIO insurance fiasco - I 've been a RACV Ins holder and the car - F6 has reamined stock - however , I am now looking to move either into a FG F6 or FG GT - and I am sure , this time , I will be looking to mod the car - how much mod is still debatable at this early stage . Once again I look forward to your thoughts and reply - Many thanks in advance
  24. Hello PlayRz Thank you once again for the time you 've taken to reply . Whilst I was ready your reply - you prompted a smile - agree the boys of the 70's are less familiar (up until recent - me included) with the F6 - and have failed to appreciate what a wonder the vehicle really is . Their lost !!, What makes it difficult - I guess are you buying the car to satisfy others, or are you buying the car to put a smile on your own face ?!! Pre SC V8 hands down to F6 - but with each evolution of the GT it's gets harder to discount the GT . Emotion / history tells me GT - put the smile I can image a car like yours delivers is hard to give up !! In for a old fart like me - who still enjoys the thrill of the turbo . I should n't be telling you this at my age - but the thrill of those moments when you roll on from a start and you are up against a BMW M3 or HSV - and they think due to price they 've you covered - only to find once that turbo lights up - the old girl in stock trim 'will always have a partner at the ball' . Then after the rush - the F6 just rolls along like a old girl ready for a drive to the supermarket without a fuss. I guess I will have to sell my car pronto - and then as the deals hot up - I will have to finally make a choice . Once again thank you for your reply and I continue to look forward to keeping a eye on your postings Many thanks What
  25. Hello Palyrz Thank you for your 'neutral & balanced' reply .. I agree - they are both great guys and pleased that they both in the Ford camp.. Reading the forum I get the feeling that whether the F6 or GT - they are now the domain of the younger driver - whom seeking to ramp up the KW , and is seeking to move on from one vehicle to the next after modifications .. - not that there is anything wrong with that . I am and have been a little different - having owned over the years several GT 's - initial a GT and then many years later a restored GT Phase 11 - in white ...........About 4 - 5 years ago I was seeking to get back into a GT - and my son , convinced me that I should drive a F6 before I made the decision . I did , and purchased the BF FPV F6 Tornado in manual - and look it . I vowed then, I would never go back to the V8 , although as you say - once bitten by the sound , it is hard to give it up .. Well that was until I drove the SC V8 GT in Winter White - with stripes and in auto - Opps I said it - auto !!! Like you , I only drive the car on the street , and mainly as a weekend car and not as a everyday drive - so , the reason the GT appeals - is that , it brings up all those memories and that sound is to die for .. Even you 're just droling around , the sound of the SC as it builds up ends a tingle up your spine - however - evenm in stock trim the F6 and it's OMG power on boost - is something you can never discount . Agree - back to back - the F6 is easier to drive and drives closer to a sports car - I felt that the GT was a little heavy over the front and reminded me somewhat of the boat - 1969 Ford GT of yesterday year . I would hate to get the GT in a spin - even Mavrick from Top Gun would struggle to bring it back - LOL .. I would be pleased to learn from your experience - whether you would recommend buying new - F6 and leaving it as stock - or as you say - pick up a 2010 / 2011 F6 and then visit Nizpro or ??? for a tune to around 320rwkw ? It is interesting - apart from the discussion on wheel size recently due to the changes to the GT Panther - no one has spoken about their insurance issues - when they mod their cars Again - what you have done with your F6 is fantastic - and you are no doubt very proud of your achievements - Would you recommend anyone would be capable of the instal as your have done - or given the value of the mod' - best to take it to a recommended mod house ?. Look forward once again to your reply Many thanks in advance
