The Government offered a 3% payrise across the board which equates to about a $40 per week payrise for the average police officer, and said that if anymore was wanted the police would have to give up conditions those on the agender are 12 hour shifts and death and dissability payments, 12 hour shifts are a blessing but are not the big issue what is is the death and dissability scheme it would mean that if an officer was hurt in the course of there duties they would receive 2 years pay and a pat on the back thanks go and join the job cue with our simpathy. Nice!!! This is just the start of the rolling action that will take place and it does need to be advertised just wait untill work to rule comences then there will be some real changes. Just imagine if those people that fought in military action were given 2 years pay and then cut loose after they are injured to the extent that they couldnt do meaningful work and were pushed out onto the street in a dribbling mess in there wheel chairs, because this is what they want for the police force, no matter what you think of the police this sought of thing is an unasseptable way of treaing those whose job it is to protect you. The effect would be that the front line police would be a whole lot less willing to put themselves at risk to protect others and this is a situation we do not need.
