bugger that... www.irfanview.com it's free... has a resizing option and is a better picture viewer then anything MS has produced. I also have a batch resizer (for doing bulk jobs) but I can't remember what that is called... it's easy to use also

it only takes a 2 megapixel camera to do a 6x4 photo... and whether or not it's grainy will depend on the camera's iso sensitivity. if you check out dpreview.com (not dcreview as above) you'll see their in depth reviews will comment on individual cameras 'grain' factor. e.g. Olympus SP-310 @ ISO 100 -vs- Canon SD550 ISO 100: Olympus Canon as you go up the iso scale (usually for lower light photos etc) you'll see the noise increases dramatically Olympus @ ISO 400 Canon @ ISO 400 now compared to the Canon EOS 5D @ ISO 400: The 5D is a $5000 camera mind you... so that's where you see the change in quality. Good luck finding a camera in your budget.. like someone said... go to harvey norman and test test test... then buy else where cheers, Matt

Hehehe.. the story goes as follows: How to become the town smacktard in one easy step... Having lunch at the lady's place on Saturday arvo when I could hear the sound of a V8 engine pulling circle work and burnout smoke started pouring into the house. Quickly I grabbed the camera and ran for the front door. As I got out the front I heard a loud crack! Followed by a massive BANG! like a shotgun. Then along with the smell of burnout smoke I could also smell cooking engine parts... The background is the guy up the road had left his XR8 ute in the care of his "mate" who had been "testing" the capabilities of the beast for the past week or two. Most of the locals had been pretty pissed at him for the disturbances of speeding and burnouts in the suburban streets. On this day he was going crazy with laying rubber out the front. From what I can gather he overheated the engine, then munted the gearbox (pieces all over the road) but kept the boot in so over-revved the engine and destroyed that also. When smoke started pouring out the bonnet he must have panicked and tried to pull off the road and ended up into a tree. He's the young guy in the white shirt... Unfortunately I missed out of getting any action shots but here's what I caught on camera:

this mobo has the first true 32x PCI-x slot (I.e. 2x16 PCI-x) also has a whole bunch of other good sh*t, like Sata II (3Gb/sec) and support for lower latency ram... google a8n32-sli and you'll get loads of awesome reviews. don't bother sli'ing 6600's they don't even compare to a 6800 running solo. my choice would be spend the extra and get a 7800gt and get another one later on... only get the 1mb cache x2's they out perform the half meg ones... although , you don't need to go the 4800 @ $1200, that's an expensive cpu anyways.. my choice... do as you want afterall, it's going to be your pc...

Ian, there's something wrong with your camera man... all those shots are blurry! either switch to a automatic mode with flash or get a tripod or take it back... my camera phone can take non-blurred photos in no light... from memory you had a much better camera then that! looked like a good day... my apologies to young shaz for not making our 4am date. (for photos, nude of course, of the car you dirty's!)

I'm always a little behind the times when it comse to TV, mainly because I tend to watch so much of it, when it comes to series and movies, I'm usually behind on them, cause I'll watch one series before moving onto another... but with movies, I'll rarely go to the cinema cause I'm just too dam lazy. None the less, a friend put me onto the Joss Whedon series from 2002 called 'Firefly' a story about a bunch of smugglers in a space-western style galaxy years in the future. I was aprehensive at first cause Joss Whedon was the creator of series' such as buffy, and angel... both kids shows in their own rights... so I shelved it and continued watching sienfeld series 1-4 anyways about a month ago while I was surfing Apple.com I came across a trailer for a upcoming movie called serenity (which unbeknownst to me was the name of the main characters space ship). After watching the trailer I thought, that's a pretty cool movie, I'll check it out when it comes to dvd cause I'm that sort of person. Well the upcoming movie caused quite a stir amougnst the firefly fans at work who had been hanging out for it since, well, ages! and the talk of firefly was non-stop for weeks before it opened. A few curiosity hairs pricked up on my neck about different scenes and quotes, which I remembered from the serenity trailer, and I put two and two together to discover that it's the same franchise, and decided to watch the series, which had recently come out on DVD at JB... so I got a copy and kicked into the pilot episode... GODAYUM THAT'S SOME GOOD VIEWING! the action was intense, the humour black and the characters extremelly well-developed... and my only thought was, they cancelled this show!!? WHY?!?!!! FFS!! WTF!?!! well I continued through episodes 2-14 which saw the end of the series... however, with me only finishing the last episode last weekend, I looked upon birch.com.au to try and find a sceening of the movie... and saw it finished last wednesday!! so now I'm kicking myself... I look on the net and see that it's going to be the end of december before the dvd is release... so I got upset and mentioned my ridiculous timing to the people at work and how upset I was about missing the movie at the flicks and one guy says... "It's still showing twice a day at harbour town" so I scream over to the readings cinema's website and sure enough... it is!!! so at 6:45 last night, I purchased my ticket and sat with the 10 other people who like me were either extreme fans seeing it for the millionth time, people who like small crowds or idiots who got on the firefly train too late Well 2 hours later, I walked out of the cinema with the notion: "THAT WAS BETTER THE EPISODE III! " and I'm still completely confused as to why they cut the series... I looked on the net and found that the movie did really well at the box office for a movie with really only an underground following, it's got a collective 8.3/10 star rating on imdb putting it in the top 200 films of all time at position #172!! anyways... I hope some people weren't like me and left it to the last minute to enjoy this film and the series... I hear there is talk of either another movie or a second series, but given fox owning the rights and joss whedon hating their guts... it could be the movie that ends up being the firefly fans next fix. I will leave you all with a few caps of the film, cheers and thanks for reading Matt trailers: http://serenitymovie.com/nonflash_site/video.html
