    Rear Wing

yeah, that is a great pic of scotties car, I wonder who took it
  2. I also just noticed that Retravision have the 42" DLP like mine for $2400... prices change all the time
  3. If it's any help, that home-zone digital deliver anywhere in australia for $15!! can't beat that, especially if you gotta drive to sydney
  4. also, check out http://www.homezonedigital.com.au/ their prices were the best on the net... I had shops here in QLD match them ... although the DLP has gone up $40 since I purchased
  5. I got the Samsung 42" DLP for $2600 at the time the 42" LG Plasma was $3999 Not exactly $1500, but big enough to be significant anyways.. that was 2 months ago.
  6. Ain't that the truth, great peice of advice there... allows you to do both audio and picture... a valueable asset to any setup Matt
  7. Um... I read about the lamp life somewhere, but forgot it and can't find it.... it was I remember working it out to be around 4 years if I watched tv 7 hours a day
  8. The other thing was plasma tv's use quite a bit more power (people report high power spikes after getting one) and they run really hot... not ideal for hot summer climates unless you got dope air-con (like mine) wanna see pics?
  9. yeah Gaz is right. although, I priced up a lamp from a recommendation from a HT forum and they were around $200 or so, and you should only need one every 4-5 years. but the point is... as I said also, find one YOU like
  10. I've known a few people under the impression that plasma had a greater viewing angle the DLP, I know my TV has the 170 degree viewing angle... and from memory I think plasmas were 150 or maybe 160... As for picture qaulity... there was no way I was spending over $1000 on something that has the possiblity to have 'dead pixels' out of the box and as I said.. something that is going to degrade over time -vs- something that isn't (DLP will require only a new bulb every now and again). Brighter and sharper... well that's a matter of personal opinion... the next gen version of DLP will sh*t all over plasma on paper (I think they already do, but that's just me) the gen6 DLP chip from TI will be native 1920x1080progressive in resolution, will be 10000:1 contrast, and samsung models will include DC2 and a horde of other new feautres. At the end of the day, I know 4 people who've bought plasma from looking at my tv and one ignorant f*cker (implying nothing here) who just wouldn't hear it and had to spend way over what I payed for mine and bought a plasma because the sales guy insisted the DLP was the poor mans plasma. 4 people (including myself) are more then happy with our TV's, plasma boy is spewing because his only has a native resolution of 800x450 or something and realistically is only a SD panel with a high-def tuner built in.... YAY! (not) do yourself a favour, do the research find whats right for you.
  11. mostly cause of the plasma technology half-life... and the picture looks crap in my opinion, and well for the price of the DLP 42" tv compared to the equivilent sized plasma's well forget it... I saved myself nearly $1500 plus all the things that can go wrong with plasma's just screamed no no no!
  12. There's a race on this weekend? since when???
  13. I hear ya... just trying to find one to suit the decore
  14. one active sub on the front and a passive radiator on the back... instead of ports, this system adopts the passive strategy.. works well in my opinion... as it eliminates port flapping sounds even though the passive sub looks like a the other sub, it doesn't have a voice coil attached and works off the enery created by it's active counterpart to do it's thing pretty neat
  15. I was nearly tempted to take another of those type of photos for this... however, the last one ended up as permanent artwork on my wall
  16. Well, a little while back I asked peoples advice on some home theatre setup ideas and this is what I came up with. Cost a few dollars, but worth every penny It consists of: 1x Samsung 42" DLP Rear Projection High Def Television 1x Yamaha RX-V1500 120w 7.1 Digital AV Reciever 1x Teac High Def set top box 1x LG DVD/HDD progressive scan DVD recorder 2x WES HDS455 Front channel drivers 1x WES HDS255C Centre channel driver 2x WES HDS150 Surround drivers 1x WES XLS1002 2x12" 200wrms Subs & Amp 1x Silo entertainment unit from Nick Skali 2x Vogel speaker mounts After not much effort involved in putting it all together (thanks cuz) and waiting two months for the entertainment unit to arrive in from overseas, I'm happy to say, I'm in love with my HT It's something I should have purchases years ago... Some pics to wet your appetites and I still gotta hide the rear cabling in the wall.. but that's a job for another weekend... and incase you think the front towers are crocked... that's just the wide angle lens I shot it with... If anyone wants anymore information, just write me Matt
