Been to most islands off Queensland...Great Keppel is alright, haven't been there for a while though, and a few people said that the prices are going up. Hamilton Island is a nice place, a mate of mine not long ago went for his honeymoon there and enjoyed it. Moreton wasn't too bad, big sand dunes and not really "built up" in terms of whats there, but I got bored there on the second day. Not a big beach person. Magnetic Island is a stones throw away from Townsville, and there is plenty to do there, and if you feel like scopiing out Townsville its not far by ferry. Green Island I haven't been to in a fair few years, but liked the place while I was there, its a place that I'd love to go back and see again. If you're into snorkelling/diving I think this would be a great location, and it had a great crocodile farm. Hawaii...well, I went over there in June, and I didn't think much of the place. Loved Pearl Harbour, but missed my volcano tour due to getting salmonellla off tomato's of all things...hit a fair few people. But other than that, found it mostly overated. I've seen most of Australia, the only place I haven't seen is Western Australia now, I always think see what you want in your own country before looking at someone else's, but hey, that's just me
