  1. I use wired connections. I havent used the official unit but I assume the latency introduced by the wireless connection would make gaming on the xbox pretty unplayable. you can get an electrician to cable your house with cat45 cable for a few hundred dollars. you can then use it for any device in the future, not just xbox,. ive done mine and I havent looked back.
  2. I'm talkin about the basic function of the CPU and GPU and memory system. All consoles have a life cycle that involves change of the board and circuit layout in addition to refinements in the manfacturing proccess (small die size on chips). It is a byprocess of improvement in technology and reduction of manufacturing costs. The systems wont be able to make better looking games, however, because the raw processing output of the circuitry will remain the same. Early models of the ps3, for example, has the entire cicuit board of the ps2 installed in an single chip. This has now been removed though to reduce production costs. Your arguement that the ps3 is a better machine because it has had less faults doesn't really mak sense. Lots of people havent been affected by console failure, myself included. The issues with the Xbox were a result of it being leading edge technology when it was releasd. The PS3 came out some 2 years later yet it still an inferior machine to the Xbox. PS3 would probably have had similar issues if it had been release to the specification to which it was designed. Do you know that sony had disabled parts of the Cell processor and the GPU to ensure that their yields of manufacture were higher? The end result is the reason why it does not outperform the Xbox. If it has been manufactured as designed, im afraid it would have just as many if not more faults than the xbox due to overheating.
  3. In what regard is it the reverse? Xbox has better visuals. It is because it has better hardware. It has a better network service, period. It has a bigger range of ganes, period. Time will make no difference to the hardware in either machine unless of course the components are organic and growing...
  4. yeah it is on xbox and it looks better on xbox as well... GTR series is also coming to Xbox in the future. I have both machines and while ps3 is a great blu ray machine I play games on the xbox. The xbox live service is 10 million times better than anything sony offers.
  5. Have you got any pics of this? Has anyone else found that their F6 exhaust was bunged?

Autotech ran up a G6T the other day and it made 239rwkw at 10psi back to 8. I would suspect that it has the same injectors as the BF so with a tune it would max out at 270rwkw at probably 10psi up top. This would suggest that the F6 has bigger injectors. How much flow they will allow for is yet to be seen. The F6 is worth the extra $ over the XR6T imo aside from the improved parts.
  7. Buy a Bravia XBR 46 or 52 inch panel. The best on the market at the moment. Blu-ray, although good, still doesn't make the best use of the 1080P format as it doesn't have bit rate at the moment. When dual layered blu-rays come out with full usage of the disc things will get better, but as it stands unless your TV is 1080P res there isn't much of a reason to own a blu-ray player.

Autotech Engineering ran one of these up on their dyno recently. It made 239rwkw at 10psi back to 8 psi up top. Seems these cars do need more boost to make the power considering their smaller compressor in comaprison with the BA-BFs.
  9. It's already emulated. Played it at 2560X1600 with a PC wheel. A lil bit better than the arcade version was...
  10. Went to see Bob last weekend for a window Tint. He is a very nice bloke, made me feel more than comfortable in his house as I waited. The job was done perfectly and at a brilliant price. 18% on the car looks fantastic. I can highly recommend Bob the Tinter for anyone in sydney after the best job at the best price.
  11. If you are cabled you could use the Xbox 360 as a media extender and it would allow you to stream movies, music and even TV (providing your PC has a TV tuner in it) to your TV room. Either that or have the PC in the TV room running windows media center. I have this setup at home and play all manner of DIVX movies and audio. Good setup!
  12. Purple VE Omega. Winston hills area. Unmarked Sedan. Nearly found out the hard way...
  13. Good work. I can't believe there haven't been any 3rd party vendors with large screen applications for the BA-BF series. Sat Nav is $2500 whereas you can get a 8 inch screen and sat nav for a camry for $1200! It's a joke. Anyway, top effort and keep the pics coming.
  14. Considering that using 98ron fuel it makes 5rwkw less than Australia's fastest typhoon when running race fuel (both cars tuned on the same dyno) I think that given proper conditions and driver it would easily do a mid 10 on race fuel. While it makes 385rwkw on autotech's dyno it would make well over 400rwkw on some other dynos... Geoff's yellow car makes another 50rwkw than my old car which should put it in the very low 10s or 9s on race fuel.
  15. I'd be more interested to hear what the think of the 'can't keep it below 4000rpm' policy
  16. The car has a fully built engine so it can go over 6000rpm without problems. Also, I never wear shoes in any car, or in anyones or my own house. you'd be surprise how filty shoes are.
  17. Hey Ardi, Hope it's all going well. When you're ready see Spiro he has some race tyres he can lend for a run, and if you want he can set it up with race fuel and it will make around 420rwkw. Just becareful with it. Steve
  18. I'm currenttly running 270rwkw with just a retune on my typhoon. Next mods on a budget would be to change the cat and the injectors and probably install a process west stage 1 cooler keeping the factory piping. With a retune it should see 320rwkw easily. IMO changing the dump isn't neccessary at this stage so save some $ there. I recommend autotech in sydney. Give Spiro a call he's been tuning these cars for many years and does heaps of falcons and phoons each week. Drive by to have a look and you'll see it's always a parking lot.
  19. You don't really need a surge tank just do the run with more than 1/2 a tank of fuel. 3/4s is best. Your 60ft needs to come down to 1.8s and then your car should run low 12s. My last run at wsid was with 300rwkw and made 12.3s at 117mph with 1.9s 60ft. If you are running factory XR8s I can assume you have dunlop tyres. Not the best for the strip but they will do the job of getting you a low 12 with that power. good luck
  20. You are right it is 640P. The ps3, like the Xbox, scales the image internally to whatever resolution it likes. However, the ps3 does this in software, whereas the xbox has a scaler chip. When scaling resolutions, artefacts become evident in the visuals (jagged edges, aliasing). There is a guy on the beyond3d forums who can count the pixels in the game to determine the resolution and anti aliasing use. In 90% of cases the Xbox runs games in higher res with more anti aliasing than the PS3. This is because the Xbox has EDRAM (on-chip video memory) and this allows it to do higher resolutions and anti aliasing because of its huge bandwidth associated with EDRAM as opposed to the PS3.
  21. Another option is the APS intercooler, it is used in a number of 10 second cars. More info can be found here: APS intercooler
  22. No it isn't. It's 576P whereas the Xbox version is 720P. True the ps3 does play blu ray but the xbox is a better media center overall. as a games machine the xbox has the larger and better library of titles
  23. There are plenty of comparisons on the net and the xbox version wins all of them. Yeah it installs to hd because the game constantly loads new data for the world environment as the player moves through it. On the PS3 it could not do it from the blu ray drive because it is too slow. Wonder why it takes so long to install games on the HD?
  24. Well not a hard task there. Firstly there's 2 from C&V. The old orange beast (first 10 second car in AU and runnig unichip I might add...) and secondly there was Jnrs old silver car. Surely Con told you about these or does he keep you in the dark? Next there's the fastest typhoon in the country Mauz's 10 second car. Spoolman's soon to run it as well pushing 132mph in his aps cooler-eqipped F6. Geea's (actually your) old car is another. Stock manifold, stock turbo and APS cooler running 10.5s at 128mph. I know its a good cooler because I've seen it do repeated runs with little heat soak. I've also seen competitors units run up and they haven't delivered the same results. All my opinion, but the times above speak for themselves.
  25. APS Phase III contains the best intercooler on the market IMO. It also has the wastegate port mod/swing valve mod, blow off valve and high flow associated piping. Quite a few cars have run 10 second passes using it. You can fit it to cars without the phase II kit if you prefer the xforce exhaust or other typre, but high flow exhaust is required.
