I think I get what you mean, I have only been a ford fan since the birth of BA, before that it was holdens. But am I correct in thinking the Ba motor began back in falcons or earlier? The BA motor as we know it developed from the EA - this was the first time for the Ford six to get OHC. Even though the block is different from the old 250/4.1L motors it shares the same crankshaft and conrod dimensions. It's probably fair to say that this motor has evolved over 35 years since the XW in 1969 as a 4.1/4.0 litre capacity. There were 250 x-flows before then weren't there? My neighbour has an XP with a 250 in it. At the end of the day though, Ford still design and build their engines to suit their cars, rather then what Expensive Daewoo do, and just buy whatever is around. I remember reading ages ago in a Motor or Wheels magazine, someone saying that Expensive Daewoo is a Bumper and Seat company, everything else they just buy.

Yeah, mine is Oct/Nov 02 and mine died ummmm .... while ago, around 45,000klms. They replaced the underlay, but just dried the carpet and put it back in. Still took a couple of weeks to get the coolant smell out of the car.

hahaha this is great. Might be the same place in Yamba, but they have these HUGE burgers for $18 or something, and if you finish it then you get refunded. My mates and I have a little fav we do, It's called "A Pounder". Go to macca's and ask for a quarter pounder with 3 extra meat patties. Costs about $10.45 for a large "Pounder" meal. By the end the bread has disolved into the fat dripping from it, but it's bloody fantastic.

My plates finally arrive yesterday and I had this morning off work to fit em up on the beast. 2 problems arose. 1. My sis's Supra had a flat tyre, so she borrowed my car to go to work. 2. Unwrapped my snazzy new plates and they were the wrong colour. DAMMNIT ahhh well Rang PPQ and they said that the factory buggered up and a whole batch of "light blue" plates came out "royal blue". So now I gotta wait another 5-7working days....

So that's just the car without driver? and is that 6Litres or 60Litres of fuel?

Alegedly the QMF pads are much much better then the stock ford items, due to the ford ones having alot more metal in them which holds the heat and consequently causes our brake shudder issue.

Okay gents (and any ladies readin) This is a quick on to guage some interest, if it looks good I'll post up full details. When: mid september Where: Queensland Raceway, Willowbank Why: to prove how big our manhood is... I mean, To test our metal on the track How much: heres the biggy - approx $70 for the privlidge of racing on the day (3 x 5 lap sessions) - $55 for an AASA Clubman license (valid for 12months) - Free helmet hire ($50 refundable deposit) Reccomendations - Get Ford to machine your rotors nice and fresh a week or 2 before the event, and purchase some QMF brake pads (<$70) for the day as you will use your brakes like never before. Safety One thing that concerned me was being in close proximity to other cars travelling at high speed on a race track. Not that I don't trust other people or myself, just the whole "what if" thing. BUT the day will be based on timeslips not positions. With us they will put 6-8 cars on the track at one time and start us about 10seconds apart. So we really shouldn't be coming very near each other at all, let alone going into a hairpin 3 cars wide . Other notes This is not a fordxr6turbo.com exclusive event, it is a full public day held by QLD Raceway, so we won't be the only ones there. However if well all arrive at the same time and get booked in together they will try to keep us as a group when we race. Summary The day will probably cost us just under $200 (racing, licence, brake pads) so that will probably be a downer for most people, but if I can find out some definates on who is keen, we may be able to organise some discounts depending on how many of us there are. That sounds oddly familiar. haha when I got my car and bingled it, rang the insurance company and they go, sorry you're not insured with us. Bullsh*te I said, they did a computer audit and found that someone had started entering my stuff then went to lunch or something and never bothered finishing it. But ahh well, you've got a better deal out of it all now anyway.. Nice work

Thanks gents, had a look at some display plates at the PPQ stand at the V8's on the weekend. So have decided on Light Blue with white lettering. and my plates are 00-XRG. See pic

The colours on the PPQ site, and pretty dodgy, but it's not a bad idea though, might give it ago. I'm thinking either Black backgroud with silver letters or royal blue background with silver letters..
