  4. 6speed as in going to manual or 6speed auto? I remember reading a thread that it was close to 8Gs for 6speed auto conversion? What sort of cost for a 6speed manual conversion? about 5Gs? I was just looking at different ways of a stronger 4speed auto with major changes, I dont mind the 4speed but I want it to handle 300 odd rwkws when I get there
  5. Hi Guys Was reading Dec 08 issue of Street Machine and they talk about a AOD (auto over drive) auto box that is used in the states mainly in mustangs that can take some crap! standard 400hp some mods 700-800hp serious mods 1200plus hp!!! It says in the article that they share similar lines to FMX boxes and that there has been alot of development with the boxes due to them being used in drag racing in da US Any1 heard of them? Any1 tried 1? Any info would be good cause if its going to cost the same as rebuilding BTR 4speed but much better than that . . . worth looking at I think, but I have NO IDEA if it can or would work What do you guys think?
  6. Hi Guys Just wondering who has good or bad reports about different tuners is SA? Im looking at getting a custom tune soon-ish ( 1st half of the new year) and was wondering who you guys use? So far Iv collected PW V2 IC kit, Atomic valve springs, center muff removed section, and a under head light CAI made from aluminum I know Im still needing high flow CAT,injectors and a flash tuner Im looking for 300rwkws Any info greatly appreciated Thanks
  7. Im up for a cat also trans cooler sounds good also braided lines sound good 2
  8. Hi I know that they are cheaper-ish just wondered if the 42lbers were BETTER than 60lbers or are the 60's BETTER? or does it make no difference? All opinions are good to here, with greater info its easier to get confused! Thanks people
  9. Hi Are the bosch 42lb good to 350rwkw? I dont wanna go over 300rwkw's as I dont want to bust an engine or trans to quickly and its still going to be an everyday/famliy car I know the siemens are good for over 350rwkws are they overkil for 300rwkws? People say get the 60lb siemens as you always wanna get mor kws but Im not Would you say the 42lb bosch are better over the 60lb siemens? What sort of price can you be looking at for either of them? Do they different names or models as in 'green tops' so forth Do either have any sort of problems/known faults at all? By getting a lower spray level injector (42lb v 60lb) does that give the tuner more scope to get it spot on? Thanks
  10. Hi I had mine done through a mechanic I know who did bearings at the same time while it was out that came to a total of $1000 which I thort was cheap all up Got quoted from pedders for the bushes only job of $600 and that was mates rates normally $750 - $800 Ford quoted me for bushes only $1000 Im in SA
  11. Thanks ravenhard
  12. Hi Guys Im after low 300rwkw's and trying to find an answer to what I need through the threads with no luck. Can I leave the stock dump on there, upgrade CAT and remove centre muffler for that power level/flow? If so what size/brand CAT? If not what do people recommend/that works for them? Thanks?
  13. Hi Hope you dont mind me sticking my head in2 this thread So the bosch 42lb are good to 350rwkw hey? I dont wanna go over 300rwkw's as I dont want to bust an engine or trans to quickly. Why would you say the bosch are better over the siemens? What sort of price can you be looking at for them? Do they have any sort of problems/known faults at all? By getting a lower spray level injector (42lb v 60lb) does that give the tuner more scope to get it spot on? Thanks
  14. Hi Guys does the T5 have any differences over the years ed,ef,el,au,ba in bolt up to the bell housing, quality, strength? What sort of power can they handle aswel? Thanks
  15. Hi Are Flash tuners empty from when you buy them or are they pre set for what ever car you tell you have? I know of a capa flash tuner that's new in box never been used but it was bought for a xr6 na. will this mater if I get a custom tune strait off or would it need to be reset for a xr6turbo. Sorry if this has been asked b4 but I couldnt find the thread if there was. Thanks
  16. So I can just get an 'O' ring? do they need to be pressed on with a special tool or . . . . . ? can you do it yourself or is it a job for a high pressure hose place? thanks
  17. Hi My power steering high pressure hose is leaking from under the pump which Im told is a common thing with the BAs as a little 'O' ring gets chewed out on the swivel point. I was told there is a difference between turbos and NA hoses is that true? I cant see why there would be. Ebay you can buy pwr str hose for $70 asked a Q from seller they said hoses are the same. spoke to local auto parts place they said a difference and its $240 for mine!! bit of a difference in price. If ya know let me know and if you know where I can get on line cheaper than $240 if there is a turbo hose that would be great as well. Thanks.
  18. Hi What sort of power level is the 4inch dump good for? is it overkill/harmful for only 300 rwkws? would you need to up grade boost actuator? TY
  19. Hi and if you have the BF front bar do you wanna sell it?
  20. Hi Iv heard that the red or white lines dont last to long as I was going to get them but got put off by some peoples comments. Have you had them before? Lets know how long they last, Im interested in them again Thanks
  21. Hi guys I have a 03 T auto After reading a few threads about this I was wondering is there a definite level where internal pumps are no good and you need to go external with a surge tank. Im looking at getting about low low 300rwkws and it seams to be a grey area in the 300 - 350 range. Does it come down to personal choice or overkill or . . . . .? Is there any 1 who has had a bad time with running a walbro 340,341 internal pump? Or having a surge tank with external pump? If you do go external do just leave the standard pump in or up grade that aswell? Im looking for the right way to go as I want to do it right the 1st time not learn from my mistakes any opinions welcome Thanks
  22. Hi R SPEC My guess would be wheel bearings not diff bearings to give you the shakes but im no expert. Also have you looked at your rubber? If the tyres start to de-laminate (fall apart from the carcase ) they would give you wobble/ shakes aswel. I would get that checked out though, for sure
  23. Well they had to drop the cradle as the bearings were done aswel. side note do you know if the diff centres are prone to being noisy? had the bearings done at 110k which were making noise at 80-100kmphr quite loud that you could here in the cabin over a low volume stereo. after bearings bushes done still have noise but its not as noisy. the mechanic wasnt to happy as he said the centre looked perfect compared to some hes seen but it had noise. due to that issue he said would give me a good price to do new centre ( higher gears) down the track when I start chasing power. I have seen it sort of mentioned on the forum just wondering is all I can put up with it for now just abit disappointing that its still a young car ( in my eyes) with issues.
  24. Hi senna T I had my bearings done at the same time ( noisey as hell between 80-100 kmphr) but he quoted me from memory $600 ish which was the same price as getting standard bushes done as mechanic said the bushes cost more but with time saved in pressing them ( just scraped/burnt out old rubber 1s) it was a item cost verses labor cost which came to the same pretty much. Any1 had prices quotes on cost? I dont think I got ripped I thought I got a good price
  25. I had pedders bushes put in ( pretty red colour ) the mechanic who did the install hadnt used the nolathane ones before but he thought that they have a good chance of a long life, much better than standard 1s anyway, plus the bushes dont have to be pressed in as they just use the old 'cups' and the nolly bush sits strait in. only time will tell . . . . . . .
