  1. Well folks, we are not the only country that has a hatred of speed cameras....In the UK, there is a group that are believed to have been responsible for the vandalism of numerous fixed cameras. I don't support criminal activities, but for this I make an exception. I might as well throw in my 2c.... 1). No matter how much the Govt. tries to convince us, we all know that speed cameras are revenue raisers. Just look at the road up from Spit Bridge. One speed camera at the bottom of the hill, another one halfway up, literally only 500m further on, and a THIRD at the top around the corner on the other side of the road. 3 cameras in the space of just over 1Km - and these are well known as bringing in the most revenue. 2). Speed cameras are the cheap alternative to putting more police in the field. Not just traffic police, but police as a whole. I probably see on average one traffic cop every 2/3 weeks. An effective deterent would be seeing 2/3 a DAY. 3). If the fines were raised to a minimum of $1000, and 6 points, then just getting into your car, would make you think about speeding....I know I would. If you put more HWP vehicles out for 2/3 months, blitzing speeding motorists, with such high penalties, it would not take long for people to think twice....How many people can afford $1000 vs the current $120 or so. ?? Now for the topical part...Minor speeding, such as 20K or under (depending on road etc) should not be treated as an offence, unless it is in conjunction with some other traffic offence, such as without due care or attention, swerving in and out of traffic, tail gating etc etc. I would be so peeved, if I got done for speeding for lets say doing 130/140 on the M4 at 2:00am in the morning, when there is no-one else around....after all, who else is going to be affected except me. On another note...I used to take the Advanced Training Course in the UK, which was vetted by the Police. Their recommendation with regards to over-taking, was to break the speed limit should you need to, in order to pull back in, to allow other cars to pass. Speed cameras are dumb, and do not take into consideration the road conditions, or other factors surrounding your need to be breaking the limit. I'm sure that Plonky and VG would take these types of things into consideration before issuing a ticket. Rant Rant Rant..... I feel better now.

KorNDS (missing a few letters here perhaps an 'e' and an 'I'.) ? The squeeling of premium breaks is a known issue and has been discussed on the forum before (although I can't find it). I don't believe anyone has found a fix, other than to replace, machine the pads etc etc..... As long as they work, just turn up the premium sound to drown out the noise....Did I say premium sound ?....well if it is who I believe it is...whoops you don't have it.....

I know how you feel mate....I got rear ended a couple of weeks back by a Lan Cruiser.... Just hope that common sense prevails....ensure you keep track of all correspondance...and hope you get your Ute repaired to it's pristine glory.....damn those Commie drivers. Good luck mate
  4. Personally, I take my hat of to VG and Congratulations for standing your ground. Unfortunately in todays society, there is an increasing number of folk that have no concept of "RESPECT", or "COURTESY" which I believe is fundamental to a successful society. I have and always will respect and be courteous to others, including those who tread the fine line, ie Nurses, Firies, Police and others. For those who don't, well in my opinion there is no room for them on this planet !! Once again VG, Well done. With people like you trying to make an effort (against the odds), perhaps one day we will be living in an harmonious society in which traditional values are returned. (I'll get off my soap box now)

Personally this thread is irrelevant. Who would want to sell their T, after all it is an excellent car. People choose their colours as a means of expression, ie HgAg - Dull, Boring BluePrint - Bold, Dynamic, Exciting Can't be bothered about the rest . Well, giving it some thought, perhaps now might be the time to sell my T, and go the only option available....an GT-P.....Which colour.....well no marks for guessing correctly. Oh well, I can dream, can't I
  9. All, Just wanted to share with you that I have just become a dad for the first time on Tuesday 7th October. Why was it so special ? Well, 1. I get a baby daughter 2. It was my 3rd year wedding anniversary 3. I collected my T from the panel shop. Just can't wait for my little bub to come out of hospital, so I can take her for a ride in my T. She will be a ford convert from day 1. One happy dad and owner .....personally I rated the collection of my T from the panel shop as the most rewarding experience of the day....

If it is a hidden mistake...then how the hell were we supposed to find it. :sulk:

Hey BLKXRT...I must admit, this is the one of the best wind ups I've seen. There is nothing wrong....and yet you have successfully managed to get a lot of people running around like headless chickens trying to find something which doesn't exist. You crafty devil. You sure had me fooled.
  12. You don't seriously expect us to answer that !!
  13. pym replied to Cobra's topic in Off-Topic
Can't see nothing wrong with the pictures, other than the use of Blood Orange and Citric Acid as the colours of the icons, instead of Blueprint. is the answer

Alternatively ....providing a source of entertainment during a dull moment. Nothing better than reading the snide remarks, friendly rivalry, and yanking people's chain (Team HaAg).  The best thing of all, is that all responses are light hearted, entertaining (Thanks Ken) and there is no personal vindictive behaviour towards other members (not that the Mods would allow). Keep sharpening those swords...and let the battle recommence......  Go Team FordXR6Turbo.com Go Team BLUEPRINT
  19. pym replied to GlennAUII's topic in Off-Topic
Glenn, those prices were in addition to the boot. The boot lid came in at $306 ex GST. I'm glad the insurance company is picking up the tab
  20. I'm a member and proud of it....Colour wars ?...not really....just trying to convince the others that Blueprint is the colour of choice.
  21. pym replied to Cobra's topic in Off-Topic
Ok, I'll probably look stupid, but after checking the spelling of virtually every damn word, reviewing the graphics and generally wasting my time, I can only assume it is that the site doesn't welcome me back by name. Shouldn't it read "Welcome back <username>; your last visit was on Oct 2 2003, 03:51 PM" If I'm right, then this just shows that drivers of Team Blueprint are by far of greater intelligence (well they must be to have chosen a Blueprint). :laughter: :laughter: :megacool: If I'm wrong, then I'm just a plain moron and this does not reflect on other Blueprint drives. :doh2:
  22. pym replied to GlennAUII's topic in Off-Topic
These are the prices I received from the dealer for the boot repairs, as detailed on the quote. Note, these are excluding GST. Boot Lid Badge - Falcon $15.10 Boot Lid Badge - Turbo XR6 Red $46.40 Expensive I agree, but lets face it, Ford have to make their money some how, and it always seems to be the accessories which get clobbered.

Arrrggghhh. I've spent too much time glaring at that damn page, and I can't see anything wrong. Go on BLKXRT, put us out of our misery. I'm going nuts, or perhaps I've already gone nuts with no chance of recovery
  24. pym replied to pym's topic in Off-Topic
Well said Davo. Couldn't have put it any better than that.
