  2. some great replies in regards to this, alot of valid points. yes they do look a bit choco, but at the same time, every T and XR looks the same, so having them a bit different isnt too bad, as long as you dont go overboard I suppose. really its each to his own, some people like the idea some people dont... just like the whole spoiler or no spoiler debate... one of my mates said he has looked into why it is illegal to do this, and apparently the only time it is illegal is if you cannot differ between the different lights ie they are so dark you that people dont know if your reversing, braking or turning etc. or if the lights are not visible at all or poorly visible when in use. its not actually illegal to tint the lights themselves, so by masking the indicators according to this theory it should actually be okay. this may not be true, but it was what I was told. EXR6T is gonna have a new look over the next few months so im still deciding what to do and what not to do to her.
  3. I hear that they are expensive and they only cover you for a total of $10,000 is that true?? someone told me shannons was the best and cheapest to go through for modified cars??? anyone else got any input on this??
  4. Hey Again Guys. I know this is probably covered in the insurance post, but after looking through a number of the 65 pages it was hard to find a definitive answer because alot of the posts were based on quotes on cars before mods. do you guys tell the insurance company about your mods, or do you risk it and not tell them at all? there are a few mods that I want to get but I know would void my insurance. eg exhaust, intercooler etc. although alot of you guys have them and im sure you dont all drive around without insurance. this is such a tricky subject and it confuses me thinking about how people get around it, so I thought I would just ask. thanks in advance

  6. thanks for the reply, exactly the information I was after, im really just chasing a better tone for the T, im pretty much at the limits of what I want to get out of power and economy isnt really a big deal, but I will probably get injectors and turn the boost down a bit maybe. thanks again
  7. ok, so next question how would you tell when a fuel pump has reached its limits. senna_t you say it is an easy way to get detonation, could you explain what detonation is and how to tell if your engine is doing it?
  8. checked out those exhausts. what sort of difference would I be looking at in regards to power / economy / tone of the car if I used that exhaust?
  9. excuse my ignorance, but how is it insuring against a new motor? if the fuel pump cant handle the power does that wreck your motor fairly quickly? also is there a difference between the BA and BF pumps?
  10. the reason why I ask is because im tempted to get bigger injectors and lower my boost, im only chasin 250-260rwkw but I dont really want to change the fuel pump at the same time.

  12. as the title says, would a 2 1/2" twin exhaust cat back be any good for these cars. would it improve or degrade the tone would it improve or degrade the performance would it improve or degrade the economy would this exhause set up be any good at all, or is it only for dunnydore v6 owners that want to make their car sound better??? I really have no idea on exhausts, so any help would be appreciated
  13. hey guys, just wondering if the AWC (fibersports) body kits fit well?, I know a few people who have bought body kits from various places, and have had bad gaps between panels and problems with bolts not lining up etc. is anyone using them at the moment? I know ive seen a few of their "drift" style bonnets around and they looked okay. any feedback would be great. im about to give EXR6T a new look and I wanna make sure I get it right, but if I can save a $$$ or two while im at it then that would be sweet. thanks in advance
  14. this post is to apologise for my previous post on my impounding of my T you could understand that seing it was the morning after the event, and I was a tad upset about what had happened. I know I have only myself to blame. And how dangerous and stupid it was. although I was NOT actually racing the old POS N/A. I was still speeding whether or not I was doing 110 or 140 is irrelivent. I was still doing a speed that was too fast for an 80kmph zone. sorry to the people on here I offended by making the post, I know the police were doing there job and they were quite polite to me about the incident. they probably could have locked me up if they wanted, although I bet some of you were a little hypocrytical because im sure you have been speeding before well over the limit, with a car like ours its a given, im just the stupid one who got caught. I appreciate the people who gave the reply I was looking for, with the information on how best to handle the court case in the hope of maybe holding on to my license. or getting some sort of leniancy. sorry again -Pete

  16. like the title says last night, had my T impounded. $500 to get it out..... f*cking cops they think I was doing 141kmph in an 80k zone APPARENTLY I think its bullsh*t, because I was ONLY DOING 110kmph and they were on the other side of the road and there was another car next to me. so I dont think they got an accurate reading. and how do they expect it to be accurate from 50m away doing 80kmph going the opposite direction to me, and with another car next to mine which was speeding too and driving and acting like a dick head. which mind you they let the other person go without penalty. I dont care about the fine, or the impound really, just worried about losing my licence when I eventually have to go to court thoughts?

    ISPIT and IMEASY are nice plates you gotta love slappas hahahah seen a vs xx driving through frankston the other day with number plates "HOTTI3" and yeah she was..... she looked impressed as I dosed past her SHUTUTUTUTUU and yeah I did it on purpose. lol

    obviously im talking about the number plate on the new R-Spec - NVYDF6. my mate who came along on the cruise on friday night, asked me yesterday "Do you think NVYDF6 means Navy Defence Force?, I wonder if he is in the Navy" I almost crashed into the person in front of me because I was laughing so hard.
  21. yeah I just replaced my coil packs its just the guy that had the cover off last night said they fire better when they arent really hot. so really some sort of cooling function would work well? any ideas on what could be done to keep coil packs cooler?
  22. ok, fair point. what about drilling a couple of little holes through it to release some hot air or would moisture still get in? just thinking out loud..

  24. one of the guys last night on the cruise had that black cover which covers the coil packs taken off to keep them cool. because when they get hot they dont work as well as when they are cold. I know my coil packs have overheated recently and I had to replace 3 of them. is removing this cover a good idea or not? why / why not? thoughts? thanks in advance.
  25. who was that fool that lost it at the dandenong lights and blocked everyone from doing a U Turn??? my god, that person should learn to drive.. hahaha good to see ya's all out.. yeah rain ruined the night, and I was the same, I didnt know who was who and who to talk to or anything love the new R-Specs
