Scary. I wonder if all the drivers will be in marked uniforms. Semi defeats the purpose of being unmarked/undercover in my opinion.

Minus rims and flash tuner, I would say 22. Rims I would add 800. Tuner I would add 500. Is it still under warrenty? I'd guesstimate 24 max unless someone really likes the paint and rims.

My budget can stretch out, but most importantly I want to find a good deal. 22g for that private low km blueprint, with premo sound & leather would have been a great buy for me. Left it a bit too long =( A blood orange 2003 with 50,000kms, at a DEALER, stock interior, stock sound, went for 21,500. I would have gotten this aswell as there was an extended warrenty option. Again, left it too late. Only really started looking properly christmas eve. =( edit: As for colour, I'm hesitant about a any red, even slightly hesitant about blood orange, as red's are quite prone to fading.

I have a few preferences but I am somewhat leanient -I'm after a 2003-2004BA, if an MKII pops up I would be interested. Love the MKII rims. -I havn't thought about a BF Auto, but should one pop up, I may consider it seeing as the trans is tough. -In terms of km's I'm hesitant with anything over 70'000kms would prefer something around 50,000. -I want it to have a full service history. -I want the 4spd Auto, not the 5spd Manual. -I would prefer leather. -AND premium sound. -In terms of car colour: Preferences are silohouette, blueprint, blood orange, vixen red, lightning Strike That's about it off the top of my head. I'm a bit dissapointed however as a blueprint 2003 with 50,000kms, full leather, premium sound, and warranty sold privatly here for 22,000 just before christmas =( Oh well I'll keep looking.

All dealer cars seem overpriced and/or dodgey, and nothing seems to be comming up privatly. =( My last resort is to buy interstate, but I'm unsure of whether to take that route.

What was the sale price?

So how does a bank cheque work exactly (probaly should call the bank about this though)? What I'm worried about is how quick the cheque can be cleared/verified. I want to be in and driving off within an hour or two so it's important that the money can be transferred over very quick (preferably with a phone hotline?)

Hey guys, I'm currently looking at purchasing an XR6T intersate (Victoria) privately and am after some general advice. 1. Which company would be best to do a full inspection/whether it's been a repairable writeoff/cleared of any outstaning debt/roadtest/phone report on the car? In South Australia we have the RAA. Who would be best in Victoria? 2. What's the best way to transfer the money over to the seller? I'm planning to fly out Saturday morning and drive it home asap. Are banks open on Saturdays in Victoria? 3. Any other general advice from people who have pruchased cars from interstate or general advice would be greatly appreciated.

I would be happy if it would be stepping out in 2nd gear, or even getting a slight tyre chirp/squeek, but alas, nothing! May have been the fact it was almost 40 here today and there were 3 people in the car.

So to get the claimed 6 second 0-100 time you would need to put your foot on the brake, rev it to 3000rpm, release the brake, floor it, and hang on?

Hi people, Long time reader, first time poster. For the last year I've been saving my hard earned dollars with the goal of buying a nice xr6t. I know the cars are quick, but have never actually test driven one before. Until today! The car was a low km 2003 XR6T. Now what I want to ask everyone is: what were your impressions on your first testdrive? I'm primarily asking because I had an expectation that it would be gut renchingly fast and was somewhat let down. Steping into it I was a bit cautious, getting the seat position right, adjusting the steeering column etc etc. I drove out onto the road cautiously like grandpa, up to about 30kmh-ish and gave it a quick squirt up to 70. Felt a few g's and a rush, first impressions with my friend in the passenger seat was how smooth it felt. Feeling a bit more comfortable, we came up to a left, giving way to passing cars, I psyched myself up to floor it. This is when I felt the dissapointment. I was expecting wheelspin, or atleast a violent takeoff, but nothing happened. It was smooth, up to about 30 when boost/torque seemed to really kick in and propel all 3 of us up to 100 in a time that seemed quicker then it actually felt. What was everyone elses first thoughts? Me and my friend walked off with the conclusion that it was a really refined smooth ride which kind of took away from the feeling of speed. I take it these things have to be reved to 3000rpm with your foot on the brake to get the kind of take off I was expecting?
