My flex plate let go on Fri have a newbie on it's way through Nizpro. We found the tranny was an exchange unit and whoever had it off previously re-used old bolts and did not even lock tight in.

My ZF just pooped itself last night at Benaraby. Havn't got it apart yet but seems like a bearing on the input side. Pick revs up it sounds fine but sitting at idle sounds like someone threw steel balls inside. I can feel a rebuild coming on. Car was running 320rwkw on stock tyres and happened when I backed off in the burnout. Starting to not feel so confident about these ZF's when the BA 4sp could rip skids all day with similar power and no signs of worry. Not Happy Jan.

Ha ha no fight need I peronally don't stay and get my tunes locally. Pre inspection on a standard car is different from getting a tune done though. I didn't know about those ones but most workshops do go through a few especially in the early days and quite often it's usually when the customer requests to push it. Like everyone else get tuned by somone you trust.

Suprising trial today 440hp on 14psi on stock pump but started to lean out so backed off to 12psi and was fine. Stock dump 4" cat with 3" outlets into 3" exhaust with a "plastic" intake I'm trialing we were suprised that when the new pump finally turns up should be good for nealy 470hp.

Mate I own the Autobarn store up here. Mopower cetainly capable of a pre inspection. There did get a bad rep in the beginning as far as tuning goes but they are now really starting to put out some decent cars. I know of an FG putting out about 400rwkw and another BA putting out 320rwkw. Another one to think of is a place called Stitts Motor Repairs. They are quite good for this type of thing and don't charge an arm and a leg. I'll keep an eye out for the car and let you know if I see it. Cheers Tony

Missus wrote off my sedan last month (tried jumping it off a 5m embankment. She survived car didn't. Just picked up it's repacement. BF MkII XR6T ute in silhouette, Hard Lid, Wing, Premi sound, Leather, Cobra Stripes, Still have injectors and X3 that didn't make it too the BA so will go in for a tune then I'll start going down the whole kit and kaboodle road. (trade off for her destroying the last one). As far as wish list. Yep I'm anopther one who after two days is already over unlocking the lid manually and want a latch inside the cab.

The only time I ever used to get surging was when the tank was below half and you gave it what for... maybe something to keep an eye on if any particular time it's doing it especially if you've had the fuel pump done. If the pump hasn't been done it's most definetly a tuner/ tuning issue.

My partner last week flipped the XR down 5m embankment. Not sure if I want to rush out and buy another. Either BF Mk II or BA MkII F6. Another option I've got is throwing the engine out of the wreck in an XC ute (front end hardly copped much damage mainly roof and sides). The ute currently has Clevo 302 with Toploader and holley 660. I'm thinking hey now that's something differrent. The real pain in the ass will be getting it run without the BCM. I guess I probably could look at fitting the interior out of the BA in the XC to keep the BCM (I don't really like the interior out of the XC much prefer the XB). That will then lead me to other problem like lights etc. I have also heard that if I were to get a ute wiring loom they can trick the PCM into not knowing what car it's in and all should be good. Anyone know someone who could help me.

Check your rubber joiners. All the factory joiners are pretty much useless and can't handle the heat. I've split 3 on the throttle body in the last couple months trying to run a bit of extra boost. Got another one today that I've made myself out of some decent High temp oil resist hose with 6 layers of fabric braid inside. I've gradually replaced all of mine and work well except the throttle body so hopefully this new one will work better.

Went for a run last night for a bit of fun. Already knew car was underpowered as had to go back to old generic tune because my XCAL3 crapped itself. Stock injectors ran measly 13.5@104MPH. As I couldn't lay any decent times I thought I'de have a play around trying to improve 60ft. Tried reefin on the handbrake to minimise wheel spin at the start and seemed to work with 2.063 60ft on crappy street tyres. Any other suggestions that might work with getting off the line quicker.

Bit of FYI... Do not install firmware off SCT even though it links you to the page to download. It will crash your flash tuner and has to be re-programmed back to factory state and have tunes loaded back. Fortunetly I still had me standard injectors kept away and had programmed to stock so just changed them back out and re-flash with old box. Put 10PSI tune on and checked on dyno. Only made 320HP at wheels but did it pretty safely and easy A/F stayed around 12.5 until about 4500rpm creeps to 11.8 by the end. Just waitin for the X3 to come back and all is fun again.

Just wondering if anyone in here has same similar issue with the X3. Had car custom tuned recently with valve springs, bosch 968's, walbro pump on the X3. Car used to make around 340hp at the wheels on the old flash tuner but this time had lost alot of power only to find a leak somewhere on intercooler hose join of which fixed that night at home. Tuner is an hour away and when took for tes run after boost went to 14PSI on what was 10PSI tune so backed the wastegate off down to a sensible 8-10PSI on the X3 and all has been good (disappointing but safe). Tuner advised to get on dyno ASAP to check however can't be done for little way due to work etc. Have been trying to get Livelink and Updater to work and all was well until went to update the firmware as the device would not datalog as they are meant to only for it to come up with error message half way through and now left with blank screen constantly. A part of it was to return the car back to stock before updating so now because of this I'll have to replace the injectors back to old ones just so I can get A-B as not safe to drive on the stock tune with bigger injectors. Obviously the weekend now but if anyojne has any ideas I could use till Monday great other wise will just have to try get it replaced or fixed under warranty or something of which also takes time.....Have gone through the limited info on Herrod and SCT's tech pages and still no results.

I found this interesting then looked it up in my wiring diagrams to see if you are right and well yes spot on. Hooked a gauge up to the dash illumination circuit goint into the traction control button and gauge dims perfectly. Obvously Black is Earth then Blue wire with red stripe is connected to your dash lights and connect your other wire to blue with white stripe. No need for manufacturing circuit. I really suck at auto electrics so this much easier and less fidly. Might throw some pics up later.

Auto.... Track doesn't have the most traction in the world either

18th August then another in october. Should get some members together to turn out in force. August will be last meet while still cool normally get 2 cold weeks start of August then she warms up. Probably not unlike Moranbah.

Not sure what kind of power. 10PSI generic got flash tune a week or two ago. Didn't seem to be well advertised another mate phoned me about it. Was great got to smash a few Expensive Daewoo V8's. Cold nite made for good times. Car hasn't been dynoed yet waiting to get cooler to make other bits have here worthwhile being tuned.

Saw few people have a run from here on fri night just wondering how everyone went. My first time out in 3 years much faster than the old bomadore.

Took car out last night to local track. Ran 13.202 @ 105.6 MPH 2.16 60 ft Beneraby Raceway Central Queensland BA XR6T 10PSI Generic Tune Cat Back Exshaust on bald street tyres.

Thanks Guys, Silly me I'll take them out and wait until get new dump and cat, cooler and get them to tune then.

Have BA XRT 65000 k's Last week installed flash tune car already fitted with 2 1/2" Hi flow cat and exhaust (done prior to me buying). 10PSI Tune went awsome great power. Put injectors Bosch 440cc in yesterday ran like a pig. Closed gaps to .8mm helped slightly. Put in new plugs today, closed gaps on newbies to .8. Has improved a great deal compared to what it was however is still missing slightly at 1800rpm fuel consumtpion on Idle is up around 2.5 -3 L/Hr and misses occasionly. Bottom end torque feels good runs ok under power High revs not as good as it should or was. I'm about to take injectors out and put in originals again and get them flow tested and matched as I'm starting to feel this has not been done as promised. Except this will take time. If anyone has any little tricks I could try please let me know as nearest Tuner is 4 1/2 - 6 hrs away. Have walbro fuel pump on hand but don't feel it will achieve much at this stage unless someone can tell me otherwise.
