  1. Told myself I would wait minimum 6 months before getting any mods for this very reason just to get used to it... that and the warranty
  2. And 0-100 times is only one factor. They Veyron's top end power would be unbeatable.
  3. Had an evo try to take me on last night... absolutely destroyed him. No loss of power over here
  4. Could you please post up the link if you know it.
  5. You sure its not the traction control? Maybe Im stating the obvious but when you gun it from the lights you know that tc will kick in and decrease the amount of power going to the rear wheels right? Hold the tc button for about 2 seconds (turning it off) and see if it still happens.
  6. Yeah they may get thrashed but at least they're well serviced.
  7. add a turbo (haha kidding), seriously 190kw (or whatever it is) is still a lot of power. it wasnt that long ago when v8's had that much power.
  8. You know what they say about guys who drive minis dont you...
  9. Even though you may not like hearing it, take the advice of these guys who have already gone through it and wait till you've got your full licence. Theyre not saying it just to be preachy, they know from their own experience how very easy it is for things to go wrong. I thought I was king sh*t when I got my p's and used to drive like an absolute lunatic. No two ways about it, I would have wrapped myself around a pole if I was behind the wheel of an xr6t. You might think your bullet-proof, but trust me, you're not.
  10. I know what youre saying but I dont think they will deny a claim because of some technicality about what is "legal". If they have approved your mods then youre fine. I think what they mean is if you have (for example) a nos set-up and you didnt tell them about it. If speed was a factor then you would probably be denied (in fact you definitely would be). It looks like most insurance companies really are relaxing their restrictions when it comes to mods.
  11. Fu*kin oath
  12. 9 out of 10 time you will beat everthing at the lights just on half throttle. Its good to know you got twice as much to give if some di*khead wants to have a go.
  13. That's so true. I'll remember this.
  14. I asked aami this same question and they said they recently relaxed their policy on modifying cars. I said if I got injectors, fuel pump and a tune would it affect my insurance and she said no. Also I think aami has the highest customer satisfaction rating of all the insurance companies when it comes to pay outs.
  15. I thought I was in a ferrari when I got mine.. Especially on the first night when I smashed a car load of lebs in a wrx at the lights.
  16. ok thanks.. I was thinking to do this anyway.
  17. It doesnt mean its an ex-cop car just because its at a Government auction. They take cars from all sorts of areas. I got mine there and it was owned by castle hill council. Just check out the log books and make sure. Also I rang them up and asked a couple of questions once and they told me the cars have to undergo a lot of mehancical scrutiny before they will take one on.
  18. Hi guys, Im hestitating about taking my car back to alto ford in artarmon because they charged me $650-$800 (I cant remember how much but about this) for my 30,000km servce. I assumed that was normal but is it?? There was nothing really wrong with the car (other than the diff which was a warranty issue). Other than that I asked them to remove the turbo badge for me and put on some new wipers. When I dig up the reciept Ill double check that this is all. Am I just cheap is this the normal price?? Someone please fill me in. Cheers.
  19. It CAN be done and HAS been done.. but thanks for your input all the same
  20. no problem lil lady.. I understand its that time of the month for you.
  21. So don't... Obviously I was offering a last-resort option to Dule, on the basis that he might be running low on points. Since you have all your points why would you even answer??
  22. Yeah I noticed a few days ago some guys mucking around with the camera on Liverpool rd near Broadway at Strathfield. I was wondering if it was related to this, since I know the RTA has said it would eventually make NSW cameras operate in both directions like in other states. But someone once told me they have to get up in there to replace the film every now and then.. it's just standard procedure.. dunno. You know if you're desperate, and you're running low on points, you can always report your car stolen. Call the cops and they'll give you a number to call, and basically you say the last time you saw your car was a couple of days ago. They'll give you an 'Incident Number' and you can take this to court to contest the fine (or suspension). Then leave the car near a train station and get a mate to call the cops and report some suspicious activity around the car. By the way, does anyone know how fast you have to be going before a camera goes off? Is there a few k's leeway??
