Bought new Sept 03. 33300 kms mainly from 70km round trip to work through Adelaide hills, freeway to CBD. Makes going to and leaving work something to look forward to!

In SA I think the only people that order white falcons are my parents (3 in a row) and taxi companies. As said before, resale would be my concern. Most people wanting this type of car like a bit of lair factor IMO. This will flow through to second hand buyers too. I picked a Regency Red EL XR6 with 30K on the clock over a White one with 8K on the clock a few years back when the deals were about the same. Stick it out and get the one you wanted I say.

White??? Nah take the lender and wait and neg some extra (free) options. (lux pack??) I think I would regret it if I didnt get the colour I wanted...

I dont reckon he's in the same league (skills and power wise) as Federer, Safin etc but he's got more guts, and "ticker" than all of them, his last two performances have been unbelievable. I had a look a the FF thread and agree with you. someone didnt get the story straight. Question stands though! I cant see why anyone would lust after a car enough to get on a waiting list and then not enjoy it hoping to make money out of it. Different strokes.....

Was at a BBQ last night an was told by the host about a neighbour of his that purchased a Typhoon. I guess he must have got on the list early because he was told he would be recieving "build number 4". Ford/FPV were keeping the first 3 so as this was the first one "sold" he was advised not to drive it/keep the k's down, I guess because it is going to appreciate??. He apparently has put low km insurance on it (4000km pa) and has bought a Territory to drive which I cant quite understand. Do they have a Build number showing somewhere? So what do you think? Good Investment??

Test drove a Liberty 3.0R-B yesterday. Very sweet engine, nice 6 speed box, and plenty of kit (mcintosh sound, leather, sunroof, etc etc). Had only 130km on the clock but felt very smooth, powerful and free revving. No turbo rush but linear power. I think I'll definately try the GT. But for a 73 yr old/$40,000 the 2.5 would definately be the go! Ian

My last car was a liberty. would recommend it to anyone. Started dreaming about a liberty gt for myself in a year or so!

I have exactly the same problem. (manual - rolling up to lights - hunting idle) ecu was reflashed at 30k service just before xmas with all the usual promises, but still pretty much the same. Hasn't actually stalled for for a while now. Has anyone managed to get ford to fix this?? Ian

Hi spin interested in the new ecu flash you talk about. My idle goes all over the shop when rolling up to lights etc but evens up when I actually stop. They re-flashed it at 30k service before x-mas (that will fix it and give you better fuel economy and provide world peace!) but it didnt make any difference at all! where did you find out about the "new" one? Yeah, the colour is a bit out (it is blueprint!). Blame the photographer I spose. One is at dusk though. Nothing better than a clean blueprint glistening in the sun IMHO.

My car had these exact problems recently. Faulty throttle body - replaced under warranty. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> I am having these probs currently. Reflashed ecu at 30k service but still doing it. Do you know how they decided that was the prob?

I'd recommend it! I agree there are alot of people here with probs and the lack of service they seem to get sucks! But I think there must be alot with no (or a few minor) issues! People that are happy with a product are generally a lot quieter about it than people that arent. Whilst my car has had some issues, these have been relativley minor to date (30000 in 15 months). It is a falcon still but you will love it believe me. Besides, if your a Expensive Daewoo man you should be used to crappy products and service!! (sorry. couldnt resist it..)

I am having a similar ilde problem with my manual T. I dont know if it occurs after heavy breaking, but if I depress the clutch when rolling (up to lights etc) the idle hunts from near stall to nearly 1000 rpm (up/down/up etc) (stalled a couple of times too!). When I come to standstill it evens out. Only started in the last couple thousand k's or so. I reported at 30000 service and the flashed the ecu and said it would be fixed, seemed OK for a couiple of days but now back to same. Any advice? Are there any other threads about this? Thanks Ian

Ah, yes, U-Turns are fun in the T. Unfortunately for me, the nice policeman wasn't very impressed on Friday night! Good to see another Adelaide member on here. What dealer did you get your car from and get warranty work done at? <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Got it from Adrian Brian, mainly because at the time they were the only dealer with a manual T they would let me take for a decent test drive (they lent it to me for a couple of hours) as I wanted to make sure I was making the right choice. I got my Liberty from United Motors and they lent me 2 diff cars overnight in the blink of an eye. I know they were/are popular but I couldnt believe how hard it was to get a drive (It's a Falcon not a Ferrari!). Suffice to say the drive won me back! I asked another dealer (Maughn Team) for their best price over the phone (46k on road compared with rrp about 52k - getting them to give me what I thought was a good price over the phone really surprised me) and AB matched it. I couldnt believe the discount considering the popularity of the T and the wait list. All warranty/service work till today (got the 30k done today at Stillwell in the city - just easier as I work in the CBD) has been done at Adrian Brian. Fairly happy with them. They did the brake machine under warranty without any qualms, have replaced the gear boot twice (split twice in exactly the same place). Fixed the out of shape door rubber (bulging off the windscreen) at the second attempt. They told me there was no fix for the handbrake scrape at the 15k service which Stillwell supposedly fixed today (will find out in the carpark in the morn). I had the poor start/backfire event happen once and AB reflashed the ecu - no reoccurrence since. Stillwell reflashed again today to fix the erratic idle when rolling up to lights (they said it should fix the prob and also help with fuel economy!). Not sure if its fixed yet as it was intermittant. Gave it a flogging through the hills on the way home tonight just to make sure no new probs. Felt great!! Thanks for the welcome guys!
