  1. "In a sign of the times, the turbocharged six-cylinder FPV Typhoon is reportedly faster than the V8. Matched to a six-speed automatic transmission, Ford says it accelerates from 0 to 100kmh in 5.3 seconds." Holy *beep* :jabber: Looks like the Boss is now only good for the sound. And that's an auto
  2. Spoken like a true engineer. Forgotten most of what l learnt at Uni but 746w stuck in my head, took a real engineer to correct me though
  3. That Blue F6 is my favourite, looks especially tough with those 19" alloys. The car looks menacing without having to resort to stripes and gimmicks. Finally the F6 has an identity of its own. those 19" grey alloys are awesome
  4. It is but takes many millions to calibrate it for the car. FPV are being tightarses and think the Aussie meathead V8 (+F6) buying car public wont care or notice. WRONG
  5. Yep still a 5spd as per the standard GT. Only the 6cyl Liberty picked up the Sti 6 spd. The cars are coming in at the end of this year apparently over several shipments. All will be plated 05.

    Prodrive Wheels.

l like those new BF 17" wheels although they are obviously inspired by the XR 18". The new 19's on the F6 and GT-P too are very similar to the BA2 GT-P wheels, seems like they are running out of ideas.
  7. Why It doesn't cost $150k so isnt likely to have expensive mods like flared gaurds. The money has been put into the quality and engineering not looks. Subtle but worthwhile mods, the quad exhaust and small boot lip spolier is all class
  8. Easy. 1hp = 0.746kw
  9. l remember one of the early FPV propodanga speils where they said all FPV's would incorporate the best of all safety features available in the donor car range. No DSC makes a mockery of that claim. No DSC for the same reason the T3 didnt have TC, not enough develpment $$ are being spent. Its about looks and image first, engineering and qualility second. that's why l am more tempted than ever to give the BF a miss. if others are thinking like me then FPV need to re-asses their priorities.
  10. Not hard to see the cupbard is bare. If FPV are cutting corners like these they must not be performing that well financially. No REAL changes to the cars that did not flow down from the BF upgrade that l am aware of anyway, Brembo's aside. Bet the driveline is the same crap ECU torque tag protected POS as the BA l wanted to like the FPV and l do love the new look, especially the F6 with those dark grey alloys, but l am still not sure. No DSC is just poor engineering.
  11. Some more info for those who are interested. Just come back from the local Subie dealer to suss out what they knew. Nothing as it happens so they rang their Subie rep. 300 cars, 240 sedans, 60 wagons. majority to be auto's Only 21 in Black whch would be my preference. Cars in at the end of the year, to be plated 05. Power is more like 206kw but this sint being published (take that how you like!) Dealer is trying to suss out some photos for me, l want to see the Black with Gunmetal alloys
  12. Impressive huh. Go for the big build up and then deflate peoples interest.
  13. Subaru calim 0-100 in 5.8 for the standard Liberty GT and 5.4 for the 2.5lt Sti, take these at face value but it would appear the Sti modded Liberty is gonna be a strong performer. Remember it weighs less than the new Sti You have a point on the frameless glass but l live in country Vic so this wouldnt rate on my list of concerns.
  14. This is the last hurrah for the current Libery GT. It is being pulled from the line up early next year and being brought back 12 months later with the 2.5lt donk, something to do with the Euro emmision spec changes. The Liberty is a nicely built car and weighs about the same as an Sti (around 1480kg), power to weight would be simlar to a T. Off to the local Subaru dealer today to see what else l can find out about this model, l find it very appealing.
  15. What are others thoughts on this model; http://subaru.com.au/promotions/?promoid=246 Sure sounds like a lot of car for $60k, would look tough in black with black alloys. The Liberty is a bit of a grandpa's car as mch as l like it. This version throws off that image without being boy racer. Guy at work has a 3.0B, loves it. Would love to see more pics but cannot find any. Its another option at $60k. Whatdayareckon Zap?
  16. Your making too much sense Zap BMW have always only offered a 2yr warranty, shows the brand strength that they can get away with it. Having just looked at the SMS photos Chris has posted l think the FPV's all look great. Cant wait to see and drive one for myself.
  17. Thanks for the pics Chris. The FPV's look excellent, the whole lot of em
  18. All true Zap but l would think you could get an M5 with extended BMW warranty to allay the no warranty fear. then there is the issue of the Ford warranty and Cust service, just how valuable is that l go through this dilemma everytime, Local/FPV vs Euro and the F6 is so tempting with the 19's,, leather and Big Brembos. but so is an M5. Then there is the Evo 9, 2.5lt Sti and on it goes, spoilt for choice in the current marketplace
  19. l am with you on this Zap. Although l will be comparing to it to an M5 it will be 2002/3 model, not a new one. Haven't heard much on the GT-P, wonder if it picked up more power or other goodies to justify its continued existence?

    Bathurst Pics

Some good pics there, thanks for posting. Love Victor Brays drag acr, that must have been awesome. As for those Crossfires, what were they thinking
  22. That looks great from what l can tell from a few pics at unusual angles. The F6 moves up as my preffered option especially since there were no power changes and it has its own unique look. Hope you can get the GT-P 19's on it. Add the new premium Brembos and leather and what a tempting package. Would even be tempted to try the 6spd auto, never considered an auto before now. Looking forward to some more info and better pics.
  23. Where's a scan Go on
  24. Dallas, you around?
  25. Very nice Colville You didn't quite hang on until the release of the BF but it looks like you have something that will easily match or better any update FPV will be able to cook up.
