  2. I'm pretty sure that VL was written off in a street race against an orange GTi-R on taylors road in St-Albans about a yr ago, was all over the local papers....plates could have been pt on another car since then though...
  3. I also live in Hillside, and drive a BF XRT ZF 6spd in EGO (gimmie a wave if you see me round), but for the moment its standard, I only just bought it....
  4. Its most probably the steering angle sensor (SAS) mounted on the column they'll change, not the colunm itself
  5. also interested in gauges
  6. congrats mate, coincidently I picked up my xr6T today, BF MKII Ego sedan, ZF, prem sound and 12000 ks on the clock...

  8. PCM= powertrain control module BEM= body electrics module ABS= obvious, but it also controls traction cont, and stability cont PAM= parking aid module, for reverse sensors RCM= you already know that one TCM= see above ACM= audio control mod HIM= HVAC(heating ventilation and air con) interegrated module
  9. dam right.... ive looked at that pic a half a dozen times, and only just realized she had a face
  10. Spot on, I work for a dealer, and have seen it done, a friend of mine had a BA mk1 with an F6 tune in it for ages, said the oil light was irretating but he put up with it,....
  11. no, they wont flash you, there is no reason to plug in the PDS/WDS to do either repair
  12. That looks like peices of sump and block mate, im guessing its thrown a leg (conrod) out of bed... time for a full house build mate
  13. They both run a CANBUS system, its just that the BF runs EOBD with gives you freeze frame data when DTCs are logged
  14. Ahhhh... every time I read a thread like this im back to square one weither to get a auto or manual BF xr6t......
  15. Piss easy job, as said above, unless your car is full of poorly fitted phone kits, trailor brakes etc. anyone with half an idea will do it in under 2 hours, ive seen the job done in under an hour with a guy bustin his chops, and ive done them myself in 1.5 hours cruisin slowly (still using air tools though).... a dealer will quote you 3.5 minimum as its there standard repair time....
  16. Ive given the proof, do with it what you like.... personally when I piss off the xr8 and get into a BF turbo first thing ill do it get it edited,... but I shouldnt have a problem with warranty claims, since ill be the tech working on it
  17. that looks bad ass, well done
  18. I dont have alot of info on the tool used to read it as I dont have access to it ( big wig from Ford came down to inspect it) As far as the cooler goes, the issue was more with that fact that he reffited the factory cooler (roughly I might add) before towing it in. Also has alot to do with the attitude of the owner, he was very defensive and dishonest.... your more likely to be looked after if your just straight down the line and leave out the BS I'd suspect the failure came as a result of a poor generic tune (possible pinging) and a good old fasioned flogging, id assume the 3 tunes that were picked up were possibly 1. 8psi 2. 10psi BANG!!! 3. F*CK better flash it back to factory and tow it to the dealer..... as we all know these engines can handle massive power when tuned CORRECTLY.
  19. I cant be bothered reading this whole thread but just to let you guys know, I work for a ford dealer, and last week we had a BF turbo come in with a massive engine let go ( threw a rod, had fist sized wholes in the block and sump) we had one of the Ford guys come down with his little gadget, which isnt a wds/pds or IDS ... but it can read PCM history which showed us that this PCM had been Flashed 3 times, none of which had been done at a dealer, since my dealer was the only one to service this car, also the car had been in the previous week with a monza cooler fitted (which amazingly had disappered when it came in on the tow truck).... Just thought id let you guys know, although im not clear if this can be done on BAs as I didnt ask....
  20. ive never weighed either of them, but ive removed a heap of 4sp boxes and a couple ZFs, the ZF do feel a fair bit heavier... they are a physically larger box, and from memory they use 2 gear sets
