Hi all, I just had my auto rebuilt and wanted to make sure that the shift parameters were right as the gearbox builder didnt think they were quite right. I dont want to change the rest of my tune just the shifts both from a money point of view and im also happy with the tune. Can this be done or do I need to try and get the file from my original tuner? JT

Id be keen to jump on the rollers if theres still spots available. Always good to compare different dyno readings and see what the old girl is pulling

Would this affect us T owners? My understanding was that there was a difference between fog lights and driving lights. Either way my excuse is that dark is a hazardous condition

Well I drove it today and it shifted reverse fine... Wierd even when hot. Its still slow to manually select gears though which Im guessing is the first sign of it giving up. Am I ok to drive around?

Im really in the wars this weekend... First the gearbox playing up now the car seems to miss. The car hasnt felt right for the last week or so, I checked it over last night for boost leaks because that usually fixes it and found nothing except a crack in an L piece that goes into the rocker cover on the drivers side between the x - over and firewall. Anyway I fixed that but the car now feels like its breaking down at high revs, ever so slightly and intermittently quite badly under load. Am I right assuming this is electric e.g leads? If anyone has any ideas it would be great I want to fix it tomorrow if any place is open. Also does anyone know what that hose going into the rocker does? Its not the one near the TB. Thanks JT

No worries well Bayswater is reasonably close, where is Kewish? Ive heard of them a few times. So basically id be looking 2-3k... that's more or less what I was expecting. If im paying for a rebuild would it hurt to keep driving it? It drives perfect in forward gears

Just got into my car and it wont shift reverse unless I rev to about 15 hundred and it picks it up... Still seems to drive fine in forward gears but thinking the box has given up after a month at 300+ lol. The car also feels down on power, could this be bacause of the slipping? Anyway, who in Melbourne builds or rebuilds a box to suit this power and what sort of coin am I looking at? Thanks

Hi All, Im considering fitting a piping kit, one that elimnates the factory x-over. Im running about 300 odd kws at the treads and im finding that im constantly getting boost leaks from the factory joiners. Im not sure whether this is because im running more than double the std boost or because they are getting on ~100ks on the clock. Either way im looking to fit a kit relatively soon. Question is which is the best kit for the best price. Ive had a look at the plazmaman kit but is there anything else? I found the xr6turbodevelopments site hard to navigate... Thanks in advance JT

before you do anything else, check for boost leaks, I usually pull the crossover off and reset all the seals making sure that no hoses are broken etc. So far every single time my car has been down on power its been a boost leak... Might have to invest in a plazmaman or the like kit soon, getting over it lol

Hey all, Had a big backfire last night wanna know if there is any risks there? Car: BA Edit, Valve Springs, Injectors, Modified Cat 300+rwk Was pulling up a big long hill 1st second was good then auto shifted 3rd and flared quite bad (2secs) while I kept my foot planted, as soon as it shifted 3rd the car bogged down and backfired out the exhaust (could see the back of the car light up) obviously I was quite worried so pulled over and car was idling fine, took off up the hill again and was revving cleanly and still making power but didnt nail it like before. I started it again this morning and seems fine idled smoothly etc. Any ideas on the cause and outcomes if any? I was thinking that it might have dumped a heap of unburnt fuel in the exhaust while it was flaring? Any opinions appreciated JT

I agree with you SCRIBR... Best to be honest, might save you some cash in the short term to say its standard but could cost you in the long run. I have a few friends in the insurance industry and they (insurance companies) do whatever they can to avoid paying out. BTW Im 24, they know about all my mods and $1100 with Just Cars, when im 25 im going with Shannons, same price but no vehicle excess! Just my 2c JT

Im about to buy another set of rims for my car and will be selling mine to someone I know but I have no idea what they are worth! BA XR6 ser 1 rims - Usual gutter rash, 2 v good tires, 2 need replacing So what are they worth? Also, Im looking at a set of BA XR8 rims 18" similar condition similar tyres but need to make an offer, the guy is asking $600, is this fair? As always, thanks for your comments. JT

I can certainly recommend the PW kit very highly. Was very simple to fit and Kev from PW was very easy and reliable to deal with. Only reason I got onto him was that he PMd me when I was asking some similar questions but very glad I didnt go the WOG

Thanks so far guys, Im looking for around 300rwkw because at this stage im not interested in a built bottom end. Its running tune only @ 255 now but the valve springs are prohibiting any more boost so the next step is springs and injectors. Id say after that ill be high 200s at the tyres.

Hi guys, Im wanting to upgrade the cooler on my T reasonably soon. Im tossing up with either the F6 or the wog variety and until reading some of the threads in here was leaning towards the typhoon unit purely for easy fitment. A few questions: 1: Where do I get a wog cooler and how much? 2: Are the a bolt up fit in a BA MK1 and if not what is required? 3: Are they substantially better than the F6 cooler? Cheers, JT
