You can do the flash box yourself. It's a great way to get more out of your car. Give Street Tuner a PM, he's the rep for CAPA and get his thoughts on how it will work in NT. Geea.

Is the car an auto or manual? Some general tips would be: Drop rear tyre pressure to 20-25psi. Run with 1/4-1/3 tank of fuel. Have a water sprayer to spray on intake plenum and intercooler. Do a 5 sec burnout to heat tyres. Any other tips will depend on transmission type. Geea.

The modded car should be flogging the stock Phoon. Is the correct tune in the modded one? If so I'd suggest possibly a loose pipe somewhere. I'd be taking it back to Simon for a quick look over. If both cars are running to their best the modded one will flog the stock one. Geea.

jp300+, it's obvious that your here pushing Tunehouse and there services. Do you work for them in any capacity? The best way for Tunehouse to get some respect and possibly fill a void in the Sydney market, would be to get some of their customers cars to the track and get some 1/4 mile numbers. All different types of dynos can be fudged. You can't fudge the 1/4 mile. Instead of telling us how woderful they are get some cars to the track and let the numbers do the talking. If you like get some of the Tunehouse guys to come along to the Big Vic Weekend II and show us at Calder/Heathcote what they can do. There will be many different tuners cars racing and potential customers can get a direct comparison. What do you think? Geea.

Most of the gear that was stolen was top of the line "snap-on" tools. there was also a scanner that plugs into the cpu of most modern cars to read and reset error codes. The idea of checking the "porn" shops and cash convertor places is a great idea. Geea.

I'm able to run with as little as 5lt of fuel. Before I had the surge tank installed I had to run with 3/4 of a tank when I was going quicker than 11.4. Habbib is a very big bloke and it's a credit to his driving skills that he's able to run the numbers he does with a standard stall. Geea.

Habbib is spot on with what he says. However most of the XR6T's that I have seen run at Calder run full weight. The 3 cars that were there on Saturday night, (Dave, Laurie and Marcus) all had full exhaust, full interior and pump fuel. These car ran 10.8/11.3 and 12.6. My car ran it's best time with full interior, and full length exhaust. We all used Street rubber. I know when Adam's car ran the 9.9 it ran with less weight and used slicks. Most of the Melbourne guys from here usually run with full interiors, full exhaust, Street rubber and pump fuel. Habbibs right about the weight and limited launch capabilities of his car giving him a higher ET. Mind you a 12.3 is still a great time. The MPH however is still only 115mph which isn't alot for the mods on the car. Geea.

Last night (Thursday) after 7pm the HPF workshop was robbed. A large amount of tools and tuning equipment was taken. Ian and Rob who run HPF have offered a substantial reward for information that will lead to the return of the equipment. They have offered upto $10000 for the return of all the gear or part thereof for part of it. Most important question is what state are you in? Geea. ← standard exhaust is good for over 300rwkw with highflow cat and centre muff removed... I know cause I run this set up I also have the wog cooler (autotchinica), is $499 and has proven results ← From what I've learned over the last couple of years the easiest/cheapest exhaust mod is just what Jet has said. Free up the cat either by gutting it or getting a good quality larger free flowing one and replacing the centre muffler with straight through pipes/hot dogs. Geea.

The Unichip is a piggy back cpu that tricks the car. It mainly works by bending the signals from the cpu to the engine mainly fuel and timing. The piggyback was the best tuning tool available until the edit came along. The edit as the name implies edits the cars cpu. This means that besides altering the fuel and air the tuner is also able to alter many other parameters that can effect the cars performance and drivability. The edit isn't tricking the car either like a piggyback does, it acually alters the cars programming. At the moment there is one edit available which is the CAPA flash tuner and this has the ability to store 3 tunes which also gives you flexibility. Geea.

The thing is Habbib that 115mph is around 280rwkw's. With the mods you have a Typhoon should have closer to 300rwkw's and be running 120mph. I know that Nizpro are getting around 290rwkw's on Typhoon's with edit only. Geea.

Probably be best to ring them both up and ask how many xr6T's they have done or ring CAPA and ask them who has done the most. Geea.

I spoke with Dave @ Kewish today regarding my auto. He told me that I had snapped the band, this is a bigger, stronger band. He's going to keep the car for awhile and do some testing on valvebody mods to make the 3-4 shift firmer when going hard. This should help the band. He's also getting a better band made that originally came from a different box. It has a different construction that should be stronger. He's also waiting on a new stall convertor from Dominator that is supposed to give more power in the mid range. As the auto doesn't actually make power I think it means that the auto will lose less power. The convertor needs to be made and could be awhile so I'm not expecting my car for a couple of weeks. Geea.

In that case you have a problem. There are not too many 12second 6spd manuals in NSW. The best bet would be to come on the BIG VIC WEEKEND II. Have a great time, get your car tuned at one of the 2 best tuners in the country (HPF or Nizpro) and run a 12 @ Calder or Heathcote. Geea.
