I did forget to mention it was going from a ute to a sedan. I was hoping I didn't have to get the diff also. Anyone know for sure ?

Hey guys, Just after some advice. A mate is wrecking a BF Turbo Ute, and I'm going to buy the 6Speed Manual to put in my 5spd BA1 XR6T. Can anyone recommend what parts I should get ? I will grab the box, stick, bellhousing, anything else ? Do I need diff gears at all ? Is there any parts that won't fit from a BF to my BA ? Is it being a ute make any difference what so ever ? Might sound like a stupid question, but was meaning in terms of diff gears as I'm sure the tailshaft is different. Any advice would be greatly appreciated. Cheers marto

Sounds like it was a fun cruise. I couldn't make it, was a last minute thing. I look forward to the next one.

+2 for the UHF, I have a couple but for $20 I'll take another 2. Unless something else happens I'll be on this cruise too!

Spotted quite a few nice BA/BFs around the bayside this morning. Saw a shockwave XR6T ute, XRT14 I think it was. I was cruising with 3 other XRs.

You shouldn't be too surprised with the result. They will be very even both of them, he may have just got the jump off the line. My brothers BF XR8, stock (except for centre muffler removed) and dads BF2 XR6T 100% stock had a race at Willowbank raceway recently. Both did 13.8, both 6spd autos. Not sure if my brothers is a bit of a freak motor or not.

Quite a few nice cars mate. If you like to see plenty of tough boss v8s and turbo 6s then you can't go wrong.

Fair enough, wasn't sure if there was a group of people on here going and having a display together. I'm part of the XR Club so I will go with them, providing I can make it on the weekend.

Will there be an xr6t club designated display area ? Or is just turning up and parking where ever sort of thing ? The reason I ask is, I'm yet to decide whether to go as part of another club.

Yeah mate I will be heading out on the sunday. I'll probably be going in the T or my mates RX7 or both. I'm actually also going to watch the competition tuning and performance guys. They are taking a few dato 1200 utes chasing some low times. I designed their livery at work so can't wait to see them in action. What day/s are you heading out? cheers martO

Not that it helps too much, but it might quieten down a bit as the exhaust gets filled with carbon. I had a 3.5inch CES system fitted a while ago and it was damn loud, it gave me a headache on the way to and from work, so bad one time I was ready to chuck and had to take some panadol. I love loud exhausts but for some reason the drone just got to me. A couple of weeks later and it had quietened down heaps, still sounds great but very bearable. Cheers martO

Certainly looks to be an interesting cruise. What are the roads like up that way, nice mountainy route ? Haven't been that far up north in aaggess. Won't say I'm coming yet, but I'll find out mid week.

Geez! Is that the main tasmanian drag strip? That is just terrible. Its as if they just whacked a bit of crappy road in the middle of nowhere and said lets race on it. I wouldn't think any sub 10sec cars would be allowed to race on it, theres no run off at the end, except grass and trees lol. P.S what mods did the SS ute have ?

The red one that you posted is a BA/BF. The one in street machine aaagggeeesss ago was an AU, I still have the mag I think. I saw the silver and purple ones at qld raceway maybe 4 or 5 years ago. They were modified xr6 turbos with really nice interiors. From memory the interiors were a bit like a DJR 320, sounded nice too. Not that it helps you track em down, but meh.

I'm actually quite keen was talking to a mate about it earlier tonight. But my clutch is slipping!! Would probably be a waste of a trip. I need a 6spd manual and a better clutch lol.

True sounds interesting, I live about 20 mins outside the browns plains area but I'm often down that way on the weekends. Thanks for the heads up also. cheers martO

Thanks to tab and everyone for a great cruise. Was a great first cruise for me and was good to get to meet some members. Some of those roads were incredibly fun, but 19s and superlows left me with a sore back by the end haha! I would do it again in a heartbeat though, especially once I upgrade my brakes! That black ute "THISSO" was an absolute machine, would be a hoot to drive. I took 100 odd photos so I'll post some of the good ones once I have uploaded them. I ended up cruising down to the spit after and I saw "THISSO" again and I think I saw tab too. Thanks again guys martO

Well actually I don't really care what time we get home, was just making a point regarding the game being on at 2.. Wouldn't want us to go there and have no park lol. Sure is looking like a nice turnout. 20+ cars!
