Mine goes in tomorrow to have the "permament fix" applied. They are going to machine the discs with the new lathe...they don't need two because if told them I want new discs since they have been machined twice. They are also replacing the SHIMS which is the fix apparently. Time will tell. Aggreed that it's just not a problem with Fords. My friend has a VY 1 SS and he has had his discs machined before 10,000KM. Zak...Give me the Turbo any day.....good luck with your purchase

Yes...ford say NO metallic film anywhere on any window. I have the Ford tint....done by Solarguard....BA Film...guaranteed for life not to fade or dis colour. Also not probs with radio AM/FM.

I just got the call from Ford Customer Care Centre stating the fix for the brake shudder will be released to the dealers on Monday. This is the new shims fix...bla bla bla. They will be booking my car in next week. I have also asked for new discs since they have been machined twice and my car hasn't done 8K yet. I had them machined 1.5 weeks ago with the new lathe. We will see what comes of it

A Good 'ol Collingwood Story...for you AFL fans.... Michael Malthouse the coach of Collingwood gets wind of a potential new young recruit who lives in Iraq. Well....I have had my discs machined with the new lathe on Monday but I have to wait for the new shims. I was told by the dealer as soon as they are told I will be contacted by either mail or phone to take my car back to have the shims replaced. I will also ge demanding new discs. Mine have been machined twice in 8K. I don't know if it's me but the brakes feel different than they did but I also had to get my steering tightened because it was very noisy making clunking sounds when parking. Apparently the steering tention has been changed after the cars were released. Car feels like new again. Still pissed off about the brakes again and before you all go on about changing them to DBA's....I paid 50K for a car...I should't have to fork out extra for new brakes. I thought brakes were a NCO. I guess it comes with a Series 1. Really there haven't been may issues with these cars...have there fellow T owners.....Great car.

Hello Aza, I have.... Leather...great and easy to keep clean Premium sound....this is a MUST because you also get the colour screen Sunroof....never had one before and never have another car without one. It is great Tint....Ford organised tint and it's great I wanted Satnav but it cost's too much and would probably only use it a few times a year. I can understand if your a courier but the average person...who knows. I believe it's great though but you will need premium sound if you want it. Cheers

Apparantly the fix is just a new way of machining the discs. The parts the dealers are waiting for is a new $10,000 disc machining machine. My dealer has the machine already but they are waiting on training. My car is booked in on Monday for this new treatment because they are getting the training this week. I am so sick of this problem. I've asked for new rotors but they won't give them to me.

I would be in that...as long as we have security in the car park to look after the birds. It is in Sunshine after all. Great idea though. I also only live 15 min away.

peregrine gt....your statement is utter Bulls@#t. I am very soft on brakes, braking well before an intersection over 100m sometimes and averaged about 50K for my front brake pads in my last car. I am not hard on brakes at all and my T requires machining for the second time. 1st time at 2.5K and now at 6.5K. I won't let Ford do this again and I am waiting 4 weeks as promised by Ford for the fix. It's not always user error and statements like that really get me going.

Well after ringing my dealer again this morning to find out if they had a fix for the brake shudder except machining the discs....which they said no...I have had a gut full and said I was ringing Ford's Head Office to lodge a complaint. I spoke with Ford's HQ and they stated the fix for the brake shudder problem is 4 weeks away. I asked him if Ford would be notifying all the affected customers. He said he didn't know and asked for my details stating they will be in touch when the fix is ready. He couldn't tell me what the fix was. I'll let you know when I know. No way are they going to re-machine my Bl^*dy discs again. Another waiting game!

After another 4,500KM my brake shudder is back again. No way no how the dealer is going to machine my discs again when I book it in. Has Ford found a fix for this yet and not telling anyone. I am not hard on brakes at all and don't understand why it keeps happening. Also my steering is very clunky when parking...very noisy....anyone else had this?

Well....I can only get random tracks on one CD. The CD's take a few seconds to change so there would be quite a few pauses between tracks. Not to mention the overhead on the CD stacker.

Oops....I forgot to say yes....count me in as well if it's not too late. Was meant to do a boat course over that weekend but I have now changed it to August. This is too important to miss. Also a good catch up with everyone as well.

I believe the dealer told you the wrong thing and doesn't know what he/she is talking about. The auto can tow up to 1600Kg but the maual can only tow up to 1200Kg. I have a 1500Kg boat and the car tows it fine. I have an Auto Turbo. All Auto non Turbo models can tow up to 2300Kg. Hope this helps...
