March 25, 200422 yr #1 Well the deed is done and the wait begins for this silhouette penile extension. After reading issues the last few days, it won't be without some level of anxiety, so thinking about jotting down a list of things I should check (and am able to check) when it arrives and before I accept delivery. Seems the paintwork is a good place to start and have added the stereo (got just the right cd to test it's operational capabilities). Would appreciate any advice anyone else can give on what to look out for. And will keep an appreciative eye on the other forums in the meantime. But really looking forward to the day. Cheers and thx to crisso for the pic to leer at while I wait.
March 25, 200422 yr #2 Any Well done on your purchase,I have a list of things to check:1. Make sure all the options you ordered are there2. Make sure if you have premium brakes, they have included the 17" alloy spare3. Check paintwork including under doors, fuel flap, interior of boot and under bonnet.4. make sure there are no tools, kids or rubber bands in or around the engine5. make sure the car has been fully detailed6. all logbooks, remote for Satnav, spare keys and locknut adaptor are there7. full tank of gas8. drive around block to make sure steering doesnot shudder and make sure car appears to drive ok.9. Test all lights, buttons, wipers and audio10. give em the moneyI think that will about do it. It might be a good idea to take someone along that you know has an eye for detail as you may not notice bad paintwork or other problems when someone who does not have stars in their eyes may pick up on. I am bringing my builder friend who can spot a hairline crack a mile away.
March 25, 200422 yr #3 Good idea to take a mate with you to check things out, it's quite easy to get caught up in the moment and forget about anything except driving your new pride & joy. A Expensive Daewoo loving mate could be an even better idea as they will be more critical of faults.
March 25, 200422 yr #4 Congrats Buddy, Dont let these possible problems put a dampner on your new car purchase, most of these cars have minimal trouble, only a few are struck down severely, I had mine for a year/27'000k's vitually trouble free, less than 8 hrs off the road total, and that was Jan '03 build, it was fantastic, good luck
March 25, 200422 yr #5 check interior finish too, mercturbo or should I say vixgt :D has had a good run, many have with minimal probs. Good ol sayin "she'll be right" Good luck, and great choices too
March 25, 200422 yr #6 another thing to check is the mag wheels.Make sure there are no scraps/scuff marks/damage to the alloys. I found two of my 18" scraped before I drove the car. (Dealer replaced them of course)
March 26, 200422 yr #7 Tnx all, will be armed to the teeth (with info of course) when I finally get to the dealer. Not really too worried but would just rather catch anything right then and there where I can. Can't wait and will be looking forward to getting into this much more once I have my hands on her so to speak, even the missus seemed enthused about getting out and about if there are any get togethers so again.
March 26, 200422 yr #8 Make sure you book into the dealer to have your front discs skimmed if you didn't order the premium brakes.Though that's probably on the 1000km service schedule (or even pre-delivery) already
March 26, 200422 yr #9 I got premo brakes, thank me,why god, anyway checked the spare to make sure its a 17" mag, which it was BUT it was marked,I whinged and got it for free.Ford are so stupid that when you get premo brakes, you have to buy a extra mag to replace the standard spare. Oh deeeeer, why isint this included with the premo brake set up.Silly things like this make ford look like dickheads.vik
March 26, 200422 yr #10 Cheers and thx to crisso for the pic to leer at while I wait. no worries dude
