VCT wiring

I'm a bit confused by the wiring for the VCT solinoids.  My Haynes manual says the Red and Blue wire (R for red and L for blue) goes to the intake cams vct and and Red and Red/Black for the exhaust vct.  Searching the internet many many people have it wired the opposite and are absolutely positive the Red and Blue go to the exhaust side.  Ive had my car in pieces and am just putting it back together.  Just going by wire loom length it really seems the Red and Blue should go to the exhaust side.  This would be wrong according to Haynes.  Anybody experience this?  Which way is right?

Yeah, I ran into the same confusion when putting mine back together. Haynes says one thing, but the harness length tells a different story. On my car the Red/Blue wires naturally reached the exhaust side, and that ended up being correct. A lot of people online have it wired that way too
