Best diff ratio for t56?

Can anyone advice which will be the best ‘short’ gear ratio for a t56 (ba Ute) as my gears seem to be very long and looking for more acceleration and wheel spin. Thanks!

The stock gears in a factory T56 is supposed to be 3.73, but being a BA ute, yours wouldn't have had a T56 standard so it's been retro-fitted. This could mean you could have any number of unsuitable ratio's in the diff. Swap it out for a 3.73 and see if you like that... if it's already a 3.73 then go a 4.11 and you'll be revving a little too high on the highway but it's liveable for the extra low-down grunt.

Isn’t the t56 the factory 6 speed manual? 
 

I assume it’s been changed anyway as the previous owner installed a big tailshaft and true track, I’ll count the crown wheel teeth before I buy anything. But yeah certainly wanting more torque down low and acceleration at any cost

it is the factory 6 speed manual... but for BAmkII F6's only and BF's. BAmk1 or BAmkII XR6T had a 5 speed manual as standard.

Also do you know if the standard diff for a bamk2 turbo Ute would be m86? Need to make sure my true track is the m86 one

it should be an M86, yeah... but I'm not entirely sure with the utes.
