I've had success insulating pipes with old socks and electrical tape.

 

I'm pretty sure there are better ways to lower the intake charge these days.

Could be why mine is sometimes very doughy after sitting off for a short while, say 20 minutes.  The air in the pipes would have heated riiight up.  Would probably need some really thick insulation to avoid a 20 minute heat soaking though?

 

All because I don't want to get rid of the stock crossover look.

That's my thoughts @-Stever-.

 

I haven't tried it yet but I think I should do a gentle cruise up my tuning road to cool it off then pull over and do a run.

 

I guess this won't add power to the car rather than help adjust the timing vs iat or boost vs iat map.

Just have a look at how crap the ford design is. Turbo on the DS, Intake on the PS. Throttle body on the PS and piping on the DS.

 

Lucky Nizpro got involved back in the day and sorted it out
