I don't think he has a recirculating valve there puffin.

Turbo side intake and battery relocation for maximum choo choo!!!

Or just put a pod filter on it. You'll get sick of the doughyness of it from sucking hot air but.

Plus your pipes look like 2.5 inch but I could be wrong.

True dat, I should have looked a bit closer.

Agreed they are 2.5 inch pipes.

That thing should already choochoo like a mofo, if the compressor housing and wheel are stock.

Maybe it has a split in one of the silicone pipe connectors.

When I split my tb joiner the choochoo disappeared.

Mine is pretty loud on standard boost and cooler etc with the Swiss cheese airbox.

It does already flutter, but I can hear its very muted which is why I can only hear it when boost pressure is fairly high. Reckon I'm gonna avoid the turbo side intake. Might customise my own intake with a pod filter and something to block out the hot air, and see how it goes. If its crap I'll just fit the 270 box back on. I will measure the piping this weekend too, it might very well be 2.5 inch for all I know.

Thanks for the advice fellas, will update when I've had a play around with it.

The pipe work you have is very circa 2005-2007. It's a set up that uses the stock air box location and battery position. Definitely was uber popular years ago. Now days most people go the whole hog battery relocation kit.

If you already have decent cooler you might be able to get so cheap pipe work on flee bay and get an under battery cold air intake set up from Plazmaman or process west.

The cooler is the main cost. So pipe work for which ever set up you decide to go with should be reasonably cheap, plus no need to retune if your gonna just enclose a pod.

Hit flee bay and gum nut for BA/BF parts and ya might be lucky enough to find what your after.

Good luck buddy :happyfriends:

Those piping kits suffer really badly from heat soak.

It's interesting that you mention heat soak. I had thought of that, due to the large amount of exposed metal pipe.

After some logging the other day, I found that my iat's dropped massively during a 3rd gear pull from 50kph, as my (similar to op's) piping would have been hot from lack of cold air through the pipes.

For a town car I can see that heat soak would be be an issue that needs to be addressed, primarily due to the lack of airflow.

It does affect the way our engines operate, for those that aren't aware.
