G'day folks,

Had a few questions about the Tein Coilovers. Got them on my car I'm picking up very shortly and wanted some help. Car sits pretty low, I suspect about as low as it goes. There's a small computer mounted in the 'storage section' of the centre display, which doesn't work. Is it right thinking that the computer adjusts the actual stiffness of the ride, but you can still adjust the height to a degree manually? I'm wanting to lift the car a little as I'm wanting to put bigger rims and tyres on the car and doubt I'll fit 275's on it while it's as slow as it is.

Cheers!

If it has the EDFC controller inside the car, then yeah, that's only for damping force adjustment (soft<->hard). The height can be modified by using a C-spanner (comes with the coilovers) to loosen the locking nut on the coilovers themselves. Then you can twist the coilover around to make it either higher or lower before putting the locking nut back into place to prevent it from moving.

Awesome, thanks Keith. I'll see how I go with the firmness over the next week and see if it's worth getting fixed. If it needs a new EDFC, anyone have any idea how much they are?

Haha let's hope so. It's more the ride height that is what I want to adjust mostly, so I'll live with the rest for the time being. Cheers!

If its broken just remove it and the wiring, then just adjust by hand via the little knob on top of each coilover.

Set them about mid way for everyday driving and you wont need to touch it (generally) again

Adjusting that is part of the shock absorber, correct? Would it affect both the ride height and stiffness if I adjust that manually? Or is it purely manual adjustments affect ride height and the EDFC adjusts firmness...
