Fans - Anyone Got A Easy Way For Me To Trigger Them Manually As Required

They never turn on but would like them on for staging and things like that.

Chuck a switch over the fan relay? Not gonna be super easy though if you don't know what you're doing

X2 Lengths of cable

One red with a female blade connector on one end and a suitable battery terminal connector on the other

Repeat for black

Pull the thermo fan connection pin block off the fans

Connect new fly leads to fan connection input

Connect to battery

Get fancy and put a switch in it

Or you can have a drag tune with the fans to come on and stay on from early temps

Your tuner would more than likely do this for next to nothing

Cheers

Are the fans normally fused? Could see the motors drawing more as they get old and burning wire doing it that way... plus they wouldn't go on automatically anymore?

Drag tune ftw.. my fans are always on now it's been tuned if I give it a flogging

I'm fairly certain I tried this once. With a simple power and earth to the battery and chassis. They pull a ridiculous amount of current on start up and I was blowing 15amp fuses instantly. Wasn't game to go further as was only running 15amp wire.

I would recommend a relay if your trying to run a switch.

Ended up triggering 1 fan with a 30a switch, no relay - does the trick
