Hi Guys,

Got the car back from a service and they are telling me that "Rear leaf spring buffers detached causing springs to rub"

Is this something that is fixable, or do I need to replace the leaf? Anyone done this recently with standard leaf that have a price?

Not interested in lowering :)

Thanks :D

Are they referring to the leaf saddles? Or bump stops? I'm kinda lost on "buffers".

Next time ask them to clarify what they are talking about if you don't understand.

Id never heard the term used before either... google images gives: https://www.google.com/search?q=leaf+spring+buffers&safe=off&tbm=isch&tbo=u&source=univ&sa=X&ved=0CB0QsARqFQoTCK_C19DV8ccCFUfapgodBDgCWQ&biw=1366&bih=659

I reckon they are talking about the rubber piece that goes between the bottom of the leaf and the lower plate that holds the shock on.

Them be saddle bushes.

So if dem saddle bushes become detached and cause metal to rub on metal (which is what they are saying has happened) is that a replacable part, or do I just piss em off and get me some new leaf?

If you have SL leaves on the rear, then you'll need to piss em off and I am very happy to part with $200 to relieve you of them.

Otherwise...
