City Ford in Crown Street has cut $3650 from the Falcon GT-P hero car, now $66,200. Highly equipped 2003 Fairmont sixes also get a $6650 discount to $35,800. The 5.4 V8 Fairlane is excellent buying with a $9110 discount on the Ghia at $50,590, and a $9305 discount on the sportier G220 at $51,990.

oouch bet your glad you did't buy one of those last month.

I almost bought a TL50 (12mth old Ford exec car) but ordered a new T instead.

The G220 is a nice car with lots of room for the kids and huge boot for workcrap durring the week, but........

If it were a G240T or a G260, Sporty Fairlane with the Turbo or XR8 motor they might be a bit easier to sell.

A 'sports' model with the same power as a standard V8 Fairlane dosen't appeal to me, I guess it dosent appeal to too many others either.

I personally thinks ford has gone downhill with the LWB ever since the NL fairlaine (1995-1999).

The new fairlaine is just a stretched out fairmont ghia with another $10k slapped on the price tag imo.

City ford have lost a few of the good sales guys over the last few months and might be feeling the pinch.

A G220 for 52K is good buying. For a big car they don't look bad either.

The whole fairlane series is not appealing to me it looks to much like a the normal falcon, bit disapointed, oh well.

Had a spin in the new Fairlane after I had sold my T and while I was going through 'performance withdrawl' waiting for my GT, critique.............ho hum very average, poxy note for a V8, lacklustre performance, OK OK it was an auto, FFA suit......adjusted!

Personally I would not own one, even when I'm an old man!

Yeah, l agree.

There is hardly any differentiation at all, its now literally just a strectched Falcon. It really looks like the money ran out so most bits come straight out of the Falcon parts bin. If l were in the market for a land barge l reckon l would be looking at the Caprice first.

yes the lane has no fairlane stlye/apeal to it.

you look at why people bought them in the past, Big classy and they had power. And they didnt look like falcons.

from a distance the front and rear looks like a Fairmont Ghia. not until you get real close you can see the fairlane badges.

it would be much better if ford had more power in them. the I6t motor and v8 tunned up.

235kw six pack and 245kw V8

Expensive Daewoo has had a 220kw 8 right back in the WH Statesman of 1999!!! 5yrs ago.

Fairlane Ghia 182kw 6 or 230kw 6 or 245kw V8

Fairlane G240 or G260

LTD 240kw 6 or 260kw 8

hey its a wild guess I think it sounds ok. I still think they are behind the 8ball with the statesman/ caprice as the benchmark now. the NF/NL series was a pretty good package.

I spose this is ford we are talkin about so it will never change.
