Boost Problems

Hi guys

I've recently installed boost gauge, oil temp gauge and a turbo smart manual boost tee controller in my fg xr6 turbo. But as soon as I turn the boost up even a tiny bit, the ecu puts up the engine light and turns the boost from 12 psi to about 8, is that normal?

Yep, normal.

The ecu is to smart for a boost tee.

You need to have it tuned with HP tuners or SCT and xcal if you want to increase the boost above factory calibrations and thresholds.

This isn't your average ricebox son. The B series ecu's can be a little sensitive to change. And you've sort of gone the wrong way about trying to achieve your goal there. As stated, you need an xcal and a tune from someone that knows what they are doing.

Btw, a warm welcome to the forum mate : )

Cheers guys, I knew it would go into limp mode without a tune but, also I think the boost controllers not working at its best coz it's on stock boost atm but it's still over boosting... maybe I need to check the setup again. I'll keep youse updated thanks.
