Every now and than ill go for a drive than when I turn off the engine and it sounds as though the engine or atleast the fans are still running? This seems odd to me as it seems to be only on short trips where the engine doesn't get that much of a work out.

Any ideas??

Thermo fans can stay on for a while.

I've got a shop only 500m from me - everytime I drive casually back from there the fans are activated, yet after a decent/hard drive they are mostly not.

Not sure why this is - maybe the sensor gets hot enough to trigger the fans before the thermostat has opened long enough to cool the sensor point down from the radiator fluid or something.

At times the thermo fans will be on for a while after the car is shut down, but mostly happens if the car has been driven hard or after the engine has fully warmed up. This should not happen on very short trips.

Raband, I think you should just walk the 500m you lazy bastard! Haha
