have a one tonne ba xt ute. fitting a xr 6 turbo engine at the moment ,instead of the gutless 3v v8 (200 rwkw) .I am restricted to use load rated tyres (215 60 16 c) light commercial .have spend hours researching tyres that may fit and give me the traction that I need but am un able to find one to suit .so I thought I might go with a 225 60 16 which has the same load rating as my light truck tyres 102 =850 kilos same as the c rated tyres .just 1.5 % larger in hight .but I think it is still illegal to use due to the c rating (6 ply ) might have to risk it ,the ute is just going to be a pig to drive with about 330 rwkw and 760 nm if I use light truck tyres .light truck tyres are just terrible hard compounds ,which have no grip at all

do you use the ute to carry big amount of weight if not I would

go to the ford dealer spare parts ask for a new tyre placard sticker

the one that off a normal ute with lower load rating so you can put on

your car and get more performance tyre for the ute

tell them your old one peeled off or got damage put it on

so if you ever get pulled over by police and they look at the sticker

you would have the correct load rating

I have tried to get it engineered so that it is same load rating as the xlt ,but they will not do it .have thought of getting one of those stickers ,but if you do get busted it is actually fraud they can get you for .I do not load the truck with heavy items ,but I do go camping (camper trailer )and it is loaded then . never have or will I carry a tonne one the back of the ute ,have fitted performance handling springs ,and they sag just looking at them .

just phoned bob jane and they confirmed that I can fit them ,as long as they are the same load rating (which they are ) so now I have to find a good brand of tyre that sticks to the road

Hi mate,

I've got the same vehicle ( should have woken up about wheels & tyres problem before the conversion), I can't find anything except fitting " Terry " wheels to the hubs but are way too Tall & look pus.

Have yet to find a solution.
