Telstra Bashing!

l have been a Mobilenet customer with Telstra for 6 years, which at an average of $200pm means l have probably paid over $14k by now for the privilege.

Well, l went down to the local dealer today to order a new phone which l had sussed out last week. It was free on a $50 plan (Ericsson T630) so l stupidly figured that being on a $100 plan, it would be free also. Nope, its not. If l want the free phone l have to go onto a $50 plan, but because l renewed my $100 call plan not so long ago l cant do it unless l go down to the $50 plan, pay a $50 shafting fee, then immediately go back upto the $100 plan. This is after l was assured l could renew my $100 plan and get a new phone when the time came without any restrictions a few weeks ago. If l am really daft l can choose to continue on my $100 plan and pay around $300 for the same phone that my mate who came with me ordered on the $50 plan for free.

Telstra Bashing...... One of my favourite topics (don't get me started)

I simply have a policy of NEVER dealing with Telstra if I can avoid it.

I can remember years ago when Telstra where the only option and there was talk of opening up the market to other providers. Telstra (Telecom Aus) stated that deregulation would not bring any benefits because thaey were already providing all the service we required at the cheapest possible price.

What a load of Bullsh!t. Within 12 months even Telstra had nearly halved there charges and there level of services had quadrupled. (except for those on which they had still had a monopoly, like installations)

We need the competition to keep Telstra honest!

Just my $0.02 worth. Sorry if it seems a bit of a rant, but it is.

What drugs are these wankers on :oooh:

:pinch:

It is a hideous, disgusting little pill that initially looks like a sweet lollie. It's called DEREGULATION, dictionary interpretation, "The lessening or the removal of rules".

Once someone has swallowed this pill a disgusting non-detectable virus, named corporate control begins to slowly erode away all individual anythings, and the victim soon becomes helplessly entangled in a web of poverty and confusion.:smilielol::smilielol:

At $200/month, I would have thought you're the sort of customer they'd really take care of...unless you have to be with Telstra for reception coverage, I'd be looking at taking your business elsewhere.

everytime I alter our "plan" I await for the next bill in horror

for whatever reason I can not digest or understand the "plans" they come up with .... they are all bullsh!t

but, unfortunately I have to make regular additions/substraction to our group account so I rock up to the telstra shop ... and throw myself at their mercy ....

the telstra-shop check-out chicks zip through the mystery paperwork quicker than you can ask a question .... and without doubt, any answer to any question I may ask includes the phrase "that plan has been discontinued ..."

just too hard and trickey to sort out easily when you are in a hurry and have your mind pre-occupied with the fashion distractions that are telstra-shop check-out chicks (sneaky tactic telstra )

... they line you up for a cent a day plan with no phone for 200 years with 4 free calls a Century .... strewth :smilielol:

turbotom Telsra didnt shaft you with that. Little Johny did when he tricked you into buying shares in something you aready owned....but that's an entirely different topic.

I too use a mobile for work and yak up 2 or 3 hundred bucks a month I use Telstra cause Vodaphone may be cheaper but who cares if your phone is always dropping out.

And The first digital phone I had way back in 1995 was with Optus and all I ever got was.....

"optus regrets all the lines to the area you wish to call are congested, blah, blah, blah, we love taking your money, blah, blah, you are important to us, blah"

So wont be going there again. And like BlackMagic said most of the money does not go offshore. IOM Telstra are the lesser of 3 evils...

Number 1: OPTUS

Been with all 3 carriers.

Telstra by far is the best

Optus is ok

What a big mistake vodafone was...

That is reception wise, and I do a hell of a lot of travelling.

Moneywise,

Telstra is the cheapest for me, Optus is bloody expensive, and vodafone we wont go there again...
