Share Posted 31/01/14 09:34 PM Posted 31/01/14 09:34 PM Share Apologies if this topic has been raised previously.Does anyone know if the the next (last) shape Falcon will carry over to the ute? I'm looking at upgrading this year from my sedan to a ute, but don't want to buy yet if the new shape is about to hit the showrooms.
Share Posted 31/01/14 09:52 PM Posted 31/01/14 09:52 PM Share Spy shots would have you believe the tub will not change but the front will.
Share Posted 02/02/14 01:21 PM Posted 02/02/14 01:21 PM Share An absolute joke I recon! The last ever falcon and they couldn't be bothered to change the tub...(all going off some pics that may be the new ute)
Share Posted 02/02/14 01:27 PM Posted 02/02/14 01:27 PM Share Probably not. Why would they change the tub? Or go to the expense for any changes on a low volume substandard product that nobody wants? The falcon ute is dead.

Author Share Posted 18/05/14 04:03 AM Posted 18/05/14 04:03 AM Share Chatting to a couple of dealers and feedback has been new shape will be released October but real expectations of deliveries to purchasers would be closer to Feb 2015. I have placed an order for for current model with luxury pack in Vanish colour with a 6-8 week wait. Hanging out for my new ute.
Share Posted 18/05/14 06:20 AM Posted 18/05/14 06:20 AM Share Good on ya for spending your hard earned on a new final Ford.
Author Share Posted 18/05/14 09:12 AM Posted 18/05/14 09:12 AM Share Yeah my order isn't for the final model, it's for current FGII. Might also ad, dealers saying pricing will be higher for last model than current. Have wanted a ute for ages now. Can't wait.
Share Posted 18/05/14 01:04 PM Posted 18/05/14 01:04 PM Share why didnt you wait for the new model to come out and grab a fg II bargain?
Author Share Posted 19/05/14 05:09 AM Posted 19/05/14 05:09 AM Share Moved house and now on small acreage, I need a ute now. Got a deal I was happy with so bit the bullet and just did it.

Author Share Posted 30/05/14 09:25 AM Posted 30/05/14 09:25 AM Share Unfortunately had a call from dealership today explaining they cannot supply my order as originally indicated (by June 30) reason given was parts shortage blah blah for builds of complete FG range & Territory. All indications are for an August / Sept delivery 'maybe' . Also withdrew my agreed trade in valuation which I can understand I guess. I'm pretty black and white on this kind of stuff. I've always been of the opinion that Ford are failing because people don't buy the product. Now thinking, dont or can't. 5 years ago when I placed deposit for the XRT I have now, dealer couldn't supply the vehicle with specs I was after (colour) so gave my deposit back for me to shop elsewhere. How hard is it honestly. Just scratch my head honestly.
Share Posted 30/05/14 09:37 AM Posted 30/05/14 09:37 AM Share Essgee, I signed a contract late April for a fg II kinetic with luxury pack. At the time they told me June build and June delivery. Now they tell me July delivery. I though that they were holding it back to miss the 3 years free servicing on cars delivered by 30th June.
Author Share Posted 01/06/14 12:23 AM (edited) Posted 01/06/14 12:23 AM Share You might want to quizz them a little harder for delivery date. I called around a few other dealers and got same feedback - earliest delivery would be August so no point me starting with new order elsewhere, they all come from same factory. They also saying, while new shape is expected to be last quarter of 2014, realistic deliveries would be March / April 2015. At this point am happy to sit tight and wait, not that I have a choice if I want new. I ordered 'Vanish' with luxury pack. What area did you purchase in Training Wheels? Share Posted 01/06/14 12:53 AM Posted 01/06/14 12:53 AM Share They've screwed all their Aus suppliers out of business and now cant get the parts....is how I read it.
Share Posted 01/06/14 04:56 AM Posted 01/06/14 04:56 AM Share August, whaaat! That's crazy, but not much you can really do other then wait it out. I'm in Brisbane . Can't say I've seen one in vanish before. I kinda like emperor that would be my second choice.

Share Posted 02/06/14 04:58 AM Posted 02/06/14 04:58 AM Share I know this is a bit random, but does the fg mkII xr6t ute have a fixing point behind the passenger seat for a child seat. My triton does but didn't check it out on the ford. Worst family car ever right. Ha ha would be handy though. Cheers
Share Posted 02/06/14 05:06 AM Posted 02/06/14 05:06 AM Share I think it needs to be factory ordered to be compliant because they remove the airbag. Or so I was told. Have the same dilemma with the work ute.

Author Share Posted 04/06/14 10:19 AM Posted 04/06/14 10:19 AM Share Latest update as at 4/6: Early July build for end of July delivery. No free 3yr servicing or RSA, but they will 'look after me' .
Share Posted 04/06/14 10:31 AM Posted 04/06/14 10:31 AM Share I guess that's better then August. But still feels like a long time to wait. End of July will mean I've been waiting 3 months. I'll be keen to know what "look after me" means. I'm guessing after delivery they won't want to know you. Until 12 months or 15000 Km later . Ha ha they guy I've dealt with didn't even reply to an email. I don't want a new best friend I just want my ute.
Share Posted 05/06/14 02:06 AM Posted 05/06/14 02:06 AM Share Essgee - retail value of the 3 years servicing is $1235 including roadside assist. So do not take delivery unless they reduce the drive away price by at lease that much. 100% of production is currently dedicated to GT-F and FH mules - and since they wound back production days and staffing that's all they can do. Dealers get all of this communicated to them so they're just trying to get you over the line to sign the paperwork - if you get one of the first FHs through you'll have it before the end of the year, but if you have a random option combo you'll wait till end q1 start q2 2015 as it'll be allocation only for the first run.
