Hi Folks, turbo newbie here. I've bought a used GT35/40 to install on my Nissan Patrol 4.5. It's a bit 'sludgy' in both the oil feed and return.

I was thinking of running degreaser through it, let it soak and then flushing through with light oil then my usual synthetic.

Is it Ok to do it? Any gotchas? Or is it a definite no-no and why?

Thanks!

John

I would still suggest diesel. Keep in mind the bearing cage in a b series 3582 is plastic so dont use anything that could harm the the plastic.

Is that your Grandma's bearing cage?

What is this witchcraft that allows plastic to be used in high temp turbos? Far out.
