Thudding Sound From Drive Line

Featured Replies

On the weekend I ripped bit of skid just on some dirt and there was a quick thudding sound that was felt though the car. thudds were only about half second apart. seemed like somewhere in drive line. Sometimes does it if I take off quick or when I hit 2nd gear bit hard n starts wheel spinning. Anyone might no what it is?

If it is when you lift off it could be worn or split bushes on the diff, that's a classic issue we all face on the FG-series. It will only be a single thud.

I also hear a thudding sound when changing gears, (one for clutch down, one for clutch up). Sounds like it's coming from the drive line as well. This only happens when the engine is cold though.

Could that be caused by the same thing? I've only had the car a fortnight and am still getting used to it.
